Don't the buyers support the current price?

Also one sale is not enough to raise a price that much, seems like an outlier to me

If there are many buyers at the current price, that shows the item needs a raise.

Buyers normally buy for lower and resell for more.

If people are buying at 1.44, that means the sellers aren't willing to give it to them for that. Otherwise they would already be sales.
