Hmm, buds were 11 keys at the time of the sale, and sweets were added to the Cap (=offered=no overpay)-> 44 - 2.5 = 42 keys actually
Anyway, there were other sales the last 3 months and the actual owner is re-selling, 1 sale isn't sufficient here

There are multiple recent sales on the item history you linked. Orphans sale to superman, supermans to falcon, falcons to green, and greens to lucky are all within the "recent" sales timeframe.
Falcon to green is a quickslae if you look at the dates, so that isn't usable. Orphans to Superman is outdated, so that isn't usable. Superman to falconblue seems to have been from this quickbuying trade ( http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/25363828 ) by the history of the buds, so that *might* not be usable (Only "might" because we aren't sure if it's a quicksale or not, but we can be pretty sure it is because it got quicksold from Falcon to Green Thunder).
TL;DR: None of those sales are usable, but it was good to check them :)
The ID change to Superman indicates that it either was sold then or that was the first time steamAPI pinged his backpack since acquiring the hat. He didn't buy it on Dec 23rd (Orphan's ID) because that was when Orphan got the hat / steamAPI pinged his backpack.
All that being said, thanks for looking into it. http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/25523077 the hat is up for sale again, so it shouldn't be priced on a single sale.
If the sale is in buds, it needs to be priced in buds. The hotrod is priced in buds.
