The market for this is incredibly small. Since no other trades are valid, this should be OK.

but isnt that against the rules to raise your own item without saying youre keeping it?

That rule only really applies to unusuals. For an item like this with a small market, raising with your own sale is OK. I've done several suggestions using my sales.
