well, you're not really keeping it in range since you're changing the currency.

Well, the trouble is, people ARE selling in metal.

If I set the price to, say, 0.9-1 keys, and people kept selling for 18 refined, and keys rose to say, 22, 0.9-1 would be wrong, it would need to be 0.8-1. And that's not an unlikely scenario.

I think metal currently reflects the value of the item better.

Problem is keys are now worth 17.77 to 18 ref so this isn't changing much

Since keys are now less than 20 ref this is actually a raise by showing unsolds. I'd suggest you to close this.
