Depends, some people (or rather, most people) don't care about spells on their items and will just acknowledge it as a nice selling point.
Spells still add some value to an item, even if you don't personally value spells, it's just like paint, some people do not value paint, but you can not raise an items value based on a cosmetic that sold higher because it was painted.
That's true enough, though I would argue that paints are far more likely to add value than any spells. But you're pretty dead-on.
