Suggestion: Earbuds at 4.5 keys

Yeah, I have to wonder what the floor is for buds...it's an all class misc with a cool particle effect after all, yet it's nearly got as low as a Bill's hat now.

TF2 trading is dying the end.

TF2 Trading isn't "dying". Buds being no longer used as a currency is a good thing, it will make the economy more stable, once people realize you can't save the bud stop crying and move on... Buds were never meant to be a currency either, their price was basically made up.

He linked a ton of sellers at the current bptf price (5 keys), with people still buying from them, then relatively few at 4.5 (and most of those were bptf...), then he offered no range, just a flat drop to 4.5 keys? How is that legit?

Edit: OK, I just checked his price suggestion history. He constantly suggests a raise on keys and drop on buds. I'm sure it has nothing to do with the 360 keys he has in his bp. Having a lot of links isn't relevant if most of those links don't support the suggestion. I don't even have a dog in this fight (I'm not big into trading so it doesn't matter to me personally), but it's silly how easy it is to gradually manipulate prices like this. Nice touch with the "Desperate Measures" title in all red letters. I'm sure that wasn't intended to perpetuate the 'sky is falling' stuff.

I clicked on exactly three bptf links from the relatively small list of 4.5 key sellers he proved. All 3 no longer had any buds in their backpacks. That's a third of his 4.5 links already sold without even looking further. You're welcome to believe whatever you want though.

Yes, because three out of all the evidence is a good sample. There's a seller with 51 buds in their backpack, as well as countless more on classies and outpost that are in the comments or haven't been shown.

Here, I hope my reply answers some of your concerns.

1. An item not in the backpack no longer means it is sold. The owner very well could have listed it on steam market.

2. If the 4.5 links buds have been sold and heaps of other sellers are selling it for that price then that is the most commonly traded price.

3. 3 links does not equate to " one third" of my 4.5 links. Even if you consider only backpack.tf links still it is wrong.

In your comments you wrote that people are still buying buds for 5 keys, please prove that and I'll put it in range.

1. I understand, but it's more likely they sold their buds than taking them out of their backpack themselves. Several of your 5k key sellers found buyers as well.

2. Your 4.5 key links are by far the minority of the links you posted compared to the vast majority who are asking 5k or more on outpost, many of which have had successful sales.

3. 3/9 of your outpost links = one third. I don't think anyone counts the bptf listings. They are even more reactionary than outpost, and easily influenced by the people who post things like "desperate measures" in red letters for their price suggestions. Similar to how you didn't want to find a link for a guy selling buds at high prices for another user, I don't care to search for all the people who sold buds at 5 keys. A few 4.5k panic sellers out of all the sellers shouldn't constitute a 4.5k flat price with no range. There will always be a handful of people who sell off stuff at the first suggestions of a drop in price. As long as there is either hype or scare about an item's prices, someone can find these people's listings for a price suggestion. Also, I didn't intend to offend anyone. And I don't trade for profit, or as much as most of the people who try to suggest prices. You guys do your thing. The price of buds or keys doesn't matter enough to me because I rarely have more than a few keys or a bud at any given time and a few bucks here or there per item only matters to bulk traders such as yourself. I posted here because many seem to be content with links, regardless of the suggestion. Or they just vote for whatever favors their trading plans. Good luck though. 1. Mate you are doing the same thing again. Please stop just writing that " several of your 5 key sellers found buyers". Please prove it.

2. Please prove that many of the 5 key sellers had successful sales.

3. Huh first you only talk about backpack.tf links, then 4.5 key links and finally you are only interested in outpost links. Please make your mind. And if you are not willing to search and prove that buds are selling for 5 keys stop commenting. It does not help if you are only going to make statements without proving them.

Your very first link sold his buds from 19th April till unknown date. However, untill 29th of April price of a bud was 5.25-5.5 keys. And on 29th of April a suggestion to bring the price down to 5 keys was accepted. So within those 10 days if he sold few buds for 5 keys then again he sold because he was undercutting the listed price by a few ref.

He said they were sold recently. You are suggesting a half-key cut flat cut based on a relatively small amount of links at the price you want. You won't count people who posted their buds for 5 keys and no longer have them in their backpacks, which seems like the obvious conclusion for an objective observer. I always add sellers or send trade offers unless they explicitly ask users to post on outpost before adding. It took just a couple minutes to find those from a small portion of the links that you submitted. And yeah, outpost listings carry more weight than bptf classifieds--at least to everyone I know. If I mixed up the two somewhere in my post then I'm sure you knew what I meant. I even explained one reason why in my previous post. And you constantly suggest key increases and bud drops but you couldn't find one link for someone who asked earlier in this thread. I actually posted the first link on outpost that came up with a bud seller search after you requested it, and he sold a few buds recently for 5 keys. If it's that easy for me to find someone, I'm absolutely positive that you have seen many more. Less than a week ago, I actually voted for a bud drop to 5 keys because the suggestion seemed valid. This one doesn't. I rarely vote, but when I do, it's based on what I observe, not what favors my backpack. You seem pretty emotional about helping to change key/bud prices. I'm done posting, but again, no hard feelings on my end and hopefully you have good luck with your sales/suggestions.

I wanted to be done with this, but I have to respond to your blatant cherry-picking. I'm not sure what was in the post you deleted. Maybe that would have helped me make sense of the second post. As for your most recent post, just looking at the last three links that you said I "must be kidding" about... First one has a poster from TODAY that posted "Trade offer sent :)" ... Second one has a guy who was asking to trade... Third one has someone post "5 key :D but you need to add me :) add me and deal I HAVE 5 KEYS PURE" And the first links aren't even worth commenting on if you dismiss the most obvious proof I posted with my very quick search. I have to wake up very soon, and if I only had the time you apparently have to make price suggestions... although I wouldn't begin my search with an angle, if you know what I mean. You picked one irrelevant comment out of those links as your criteria to dismiss all three. I mean it's hard to take you seriously when you are so obviously biased. No, I didn't even think to check bud IDs, and I don't know how to check opening times as it relates to when an item leaves an inventory (down to fractions of a second... you might have said that part sarcastically, I'm not sure). The point is that I found several legit trades for the price you requested that I find, and I spent very little time doing it. I believe you when you say that some of them didn't trade, but again, I originally said that they appeared to have sold, which some of them did (and some apparently didn't). Well, at least one person in the community that knows where this destructive path will lead us. Sadly, one person alone cannot overthrow this dystopia. If we want to change something, we have to work together. And this sadly is practically impossible.

Destructive path? Buds are still expensive. When keys were 2.55 ref then buds were 27 keys each which equates to 68.85 ref. Now when buds are 5 keys each and 1 key = 18 ref, buds are 90 ref each. Unless the keys stop rising buds still need to come down substantially.

That one person is not trying to save the community or anything, he is just trying to save his money.

As far as economy is concerned the keys are still the same at grey market and valve, Now instead of spending $ 37 - $40 on a bud one can easily buy a bud for $ 7 now. Earlier $ 1.40 got you 2 craft hats, now $ 1.40 gets you 13 craft hats. Now money spent on a single key can fetch you alot more then before.

All the people who winge about economy buy 1-2 keys atleast, now they get more for their money.

Instead of nagging about destructive path and all the hate, look into brighter side of things.
