I really don't know who is trying to manipulate the australium pricing here... but watching the steam market daily i very seldom see them drop below 23 keys. A couple sellers on outpost for 22, sure. Most people selling look for 24 or 25 keys. I see no proof on the last suggestion for 22 keys. It was perfect at 23. If you want more range go 22-24. That's reasonable. An outright drop to 22 is unwarranted. I sold my last 2 ausi miniguns for unusuals priced 28-34 keys.
