Just as an FYI he (soap) approached me to try and sell his boa, overpay should be considered on his side surely? As opposed to mine that is.

I offered on his trade and he contacted me much later and started new negotiations following his lack of suitable offers.

I did originally offer on it but after being rejected I was not contacted for a long time he proposed offers before I agreed to one

Well, if the BOA was offered no overpay should really be considered.

For how long did you wait for him to offer back exactly? You offering on his hat might have caught a little bit of his interest, I'm not sure which way to go here.

I'd say personally I didn't feel as if I were offering. I'm not sure how long it was, a couple of weeks at least I'd guess?

He contacted me because I had shown interest in the past and valued it similarly to him but the offers proposed were all his and not mine (I have a personal rule to never offer unless the player is incredibly new). He asked if I was still interested, I said I like the hat, he proposed some trades with his valuations on them. i chose one that looked fair after a tiny bit of debate about the valuation of a couple of hats.

I'm personally not fussed what this suggestion ends up being (accepted or rejected) as I have a firm price in mind and I'm the only person on OP able to sell it currently so its entirely up to you what you do with this suggestion.

You mentioned the keys at a later date to pebbingpebs (the extra 40 or whatever), that was unrelated, he needed to borrow them for a short time - just to clear that up.

Good luck with your valuation, I'd recommend putting overpay on his side or removing the overpay though.

P.S when the trade was carried out he stated he didn't believe it to be the full value of it, he simply needed a strong mixed amount for it ASAP so he could get quickselling etc. for a different item he wants.

I'm sure he'll verify everything I've said should you contact him :)

From the comments, since the scorching flames brotherhood of arms seller initiated the offer, no overpay is needed indeed. However, looking at the calculation that you did , it seemed that you didn't actually do * 0.9

Your calculation: (60 + 121 + 158 + 156 + 16 + 108) * 0.9 + 111 = 719.2 Keys, rounding to 720.

If you actually did * 0.9, the value of it would've been (60 + 121 + 158 + 156 + 16 + 108) * 0.9 = 557 + 111 = 668 keys.

This evaluation may still be on the high side here considering that the cloudy moon fancy fedora is duped. http://backpack.tf/item/550166805 . But this should for now .
