Valid is valid folks; This is how I do things.
Read the comments further down on his suggestion.

Here's the comment
I read the comment. I don't understand the logic behind it. Valid is valid; this is pricing items based on their value. Not leaving them unpriced because you feel sorry for somebody who got a bad deal.
If he got scammed, it isn't valid.
yeah, his sale is an outlier anyway. In addition, if it wasn't an outlier, scamming is promising something and not giving it to the person. Sharking is giving someone a bad deal when you know they have little to no knowledge about the value of the item(s) in question.
I knew this would happen, is it really worth the 50 reputation points you'll get from this to steal Foamy's suggestion.
"Steal" I gave credit. This isn't about rep, its about pricing the hat. The hat shouldn't be left unpriced because people feel sorry for somebody who got ripped off. Tough break. Ive been ripped off and nobody ever gave me a break like that.
It was a scam, If he got scammed, it isn't valid.
It. Is not being used. It. Is an outlier.
Thrust me, Im all for pricing unpriced hats as well (as mentioned), and I have described quite clearly why I decided to leave this as it is. Don't get me wrong, I do not support his suggestion either; it should be closed. To me, it still seems like I did the right thing. Im not going to force you to close this, but I would appreciate it if my judgment on a matter like this is trusted when I close my own suggestions in the future.
As for the validity: Given the circumstances, it would generally be better to wait and see what offers this person gets on his hat. Regardless of whether or not Im 'weak' for having sympathy for someone that got scammed, if he consistently gets offers exceeding the suggested value, it would make for a valid reason to not price it.
"Tough break. Ive been ripped off and nobody ever gave me a break like that"
If I were to judge in the situations you were ripped off, I'd have done the same as I did here. It being a courtesy you've missed in the past is no reason to deny it for those that are actually given this chance.
Honestly don't really understand this logic. If you think his sale was an outlier, then leaving this unpriced because you feel bad for him is price manipulation. It's nice price manipulation, as it's not for your own personal gain, but it's still price manipulation, as you're basically saying "well this guy got ripped off, but maybe if we don't price it he'll be able to rip someone else off and get his money back."
Either the two sales above are valid or they're not. If they're quicksales, then waiting for another sale to price this is fine. But if they are valid sales, then they should be used to price it.
50 rep?!?!? am I missing THAT MUCH?!
Valid proof, upvote.
While I feel sorry for the guy that got ripped off, it isn't a reason to ignore valid sales and leave a hat unpriced.
BTW mods i have a 20 day old suggestion on a strangifier I'm waiting on ;_; as well as a few 17 day old ones.
Valid proof. I shall upvote.
Took two weeks to sell for an aussie eyelander + 15 keys - http://backpack.tf/profiles/76561197971968943?time=1434870000 ~49 keys
Range here should be pretty close.
