UPDATE: http://backpack.tf/item/3268893195 (item history to confirm ownership and trade)

Okay so i apologize for the recent mistake with this suggestion as i misinterpreted the rules of how to suggest. If going from trades I trust this may suffice?
1st Trade:
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/26346444
(I checked the history of the one i currently have to find this listing of 31 Keys pure though i don't know what it went for in the end)
Second trade: Traded to me as overpay on the Orbiting Fire Pencil Pusher.
My listing:
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/26392184
Trader's listing:
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/26362647
(Though the seller did not mention a price in his listing, he mentioned an asking price of 37 in mine.)
Please also note that he specifies that another seller is selling his for 50. See below:
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/26083561
Now i am still fairly new to the whole trading thing and admittedly i made a bit of an error with the previous suggestion. Trying to suggest a price that does not de-value the other seller but also settles at possibly a fair worth? I am open to suggestions.
So in conclusion, the 31 low is the original listing in the item history, the high is from a suggestion of 36.9 rounded up by a comment on previous suggestion. As I said before I am still new to all this so I don't understand this bud system and all the strange math people do on their suggestions.
First sale:
First trade was actually sold for a Duped Sunbeams Sober ~31 Keys
http://backpack.tf/profiles/76561198068404730?time=1435820400
http://backpack.tf/profiles/76561198068404730?time=1435993200
Mini on Duped Sober:
Sold for 31 Keys
http://backpack.tf/profiles/76561198107740754?time=1436610736
http://backpack.tf/profiles/76561198107740754?time=1436684400
Second sale:
The Orb. Fire Pencil just got updated, so you should use that instead.
Since it was offered, no overpay should be calculated.
Final total of your second sale should be 26 Keys.
Therefore, the final range for this item should be 26-31 Keys instead.
Please resuggest. Thanks! ^^
Whether the Orbiting fire was updated or not means nothing. It was an outdated price when i listed it and my base rate was 31. That cant be disputed. Backpack.tf is a guide and you use the sales to determine a price. If the Pencil Pusher had sold for 31 pure would that have changed its price to 31 pure? Yes it probably would have started a suggestion for that. People list for a price. Those who suggest a base rate in their notes have to be taken into account. Otherwise we would never have started pricing in the first place.
If for example you get a rare unpriced along with say 3 other people and using outpost you all look at each others trades and end up having your prices roughly the same, then by the rules of suggestion, that is an area of the hats worth if it is sold for that much at the time. My base rate was 31 and I stick by it.
The suggestion that you are valuing the Pencil as 31 Keys on, is a 4 month accepted price suggestion. The price at that time is based off the range from 4-6 months ago, which is highly inaccurate if you're going to use it for today's pricing. If the sale was 2 months or 3 months ago, I would've no problem using 31 Keys, but if it's like a week ago, using today's pricing is much more better than the price 4 months ago.
From what you've said, Pencil Pusher has not been sold for 31 Keys pure in these past 3 months, therefore it isn't going to be worth 31 Keys, if you've proof that it has been sold for 31 Keys or even near 31 Keys, feel free to proof it. Backpack.tf is created for accurate pricing to be a guide and not a guide to misguide other people towards TF2 Pricing.
Anyhow, I've proven that the first sale is 31 Keys as I've stated above, so 37 shouldn't be in the range anymore. Choosing 31 Keys flat or 26-31 Keys is up to you and let's see what goes along.
EDIT: I don't even know how did 37 Keys got into the range.
You know what? I really just dont care anymore. Do what you want. Counter my suggestion with one of your own. This one has been up for over 2 weeks and nothing has happened with it so its not like anybody cares. (Also being over 2 weeks old it is definitely more than "like a week")
It's absolutely normal for an unusual suggestion or any other suggestion to stay up for like 2 weeks or 3. It just depends on if you're lucky or not I guess. Well, I don't really suggest anymore since it's quite annoying, so let's wait for a moderator to check this out first. :P
I can see your reason for not suggesting anymore. I wont be doing this again.
You need proof for each sale. Things like bp.tf backpack and Outpost item histories, trade history screenshots, and Outpost listings where what the item was sold for clearly visible will work.
Thank you for the helpful comment. Will a link to the Item history from bp.tf help?
Yesh, very much so.
They can work if you can see that the items were exchanged in both item histories. If it's a bunch of items like keys, whole backpack histories are usually better. Otherwise you could have 100+ links which is just a mess.
Ooooh okay i gotcha. I didnt even know I could do that. Probably going to be hated for admitting to being a noob making a suggestion but with only 4 currently known would like some sort of price to be on it and unlikely for one to be suggested anytime soon
No worries, everyone starts out at 0 suggestions. You have the backpack history for one side of the trade, now you want to find the other side. Also anything older the 2 months and in rare cases (for rarely traded items) 3 months is too old to use.
Thanks for the help. I shall rmove the link from 6 months ago.
Should i have details of the only other seller on outpost? Or is it wrong to show that as it could be considered advertisement/spam?
low-end coming from a guess?
Low End coming from the asking price from 1st Trade. But i dont know what it went for in the end. I would guess The Burning Flames Magistrates Mullet as it is the only close to equivalent from other trader a week ago but i didnt want to post a guess on here without concrete evidence so i kept it at their asking price of 31
if it did sell for the mullet, i'm still not understanding where 31 keys comes from
31 Keys comes from the listing under "1st trade" as it states in its description Price: 31 Keys. Also if it was sold for the the Mullett, it was over the 15% overpay listed on outpost as it would have sold for between 33 and 34 keys if including 15% overpay to 38.5. Again though as i cannot confirm the Mullet was the trade, this is speculation.
you may want to find out exactly what it sold for because it may not have sold for it's b/o
also, the pencil pusher sale would be valued at 29 keys
Pencil Pusher is valued at 24-33 but still a 3 month old price. I listed at 31 with 36 being overpay as it is also misc item for Engineer.
since the tavish was offered on the pencil pusher, you take the middle range of the hat and you don't need to apply overpay, that makes the sale valued at 29 keys
I didnt know i had an hour to update. But for those who asked about the low end price please refer to 1st trade and the below for backpack history:
Before - http://backpack.tf/profiles/76561198107740754?time=1435906800
After - http://backpack.tf/profiles/76561198107740754?time=1435993200
Pretty much everything that Roller mentioned here is correct. If i read correctly, you obtained your high end of 37 keys based on the asking price of the tavish degroot molten mallard seller. This is not how it should be. Just because his asking price was 37 keys doesn't make the hat's ultimate value 37 keys. The fact that he offered it on your orbiting fire pencil pusher which is priced at 25.5 keys on bp.tf shows that his actual evaluation of the hat is equivalent to the orbiting fire pencil pusher that you have.
Hence, the range of 26-31 keys is a more suitable range. Please resuggest at that.
