Kind of seems a little bit too high. I'd personally wait for a newer sale before re-suggesting a more accurate range.

No it doesn't, people are going mental for this hat.

This is in the same price-range ish as the scorching Condor Cap, which has the same sort of following.

Or the sunbeams Co-Pilot but slightly better.

It's just that they're being unboxed at a staggering rate. Within 2 weeks of the gun mettle cosmetic campaign being out, there are already 5 in existence. I highly doubt that'd be the only sale... for now. The Scorching Condor Cap is another story,since it was 1 of 1. It's hype still lives. This fortunate son,however, will have it's demand decrease over a few weeks. Might just be me, but that's what i believe to be.

It's not a pattern without precedence, look at the Thirst Bloods. It's a good looking item and at the time there was a fair bit of hype surrounding it and (one of) the first burning ones to get unboxed sold for almost twice what the subsequent sales were and by the time they were retired 21 were unboxed and now they're among the cheapest scout unusuals. http://backpack.tf/vote/id/544ddcdaba8d8833228b5011

I heard that at one point this sold on the scm for $50, now I know that it's an obvious outlier, but did it actually happen?

Even if it did, this is far from uncommon. There's always people who sell their items for ridiculously low prices on SCM because they don't know the value
