I believe that is true, but I also think it technically only applies when the effect or hat itself is new. This has been around long enough that I don't think it's considered new anymore. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm just regurgitating what was I was told a while back when attempting to price a new one-sale hat. I failed to do so, but a friend later priced the hat with a single sale. I was told the rule was mainly to avoid single outlier sales sparked by hype.

In that case this sale is valid as this is not a hyped hat, now if it was the potassium bonnet we'd have a different case on our hands.
