The night had started off badly when the taxi didn't come, so they stole some keys off her daddy and jumped in the Volkswagon. The car was running on empty, and they had to stop to fill. He didn't have any money, so she had to pay the bill. At the party the crowd all seemed crazy with a wild stare in their eyes. She was feeling uneasy, but he was hypnotized. We're in your city. We're in your home. We got the voodoo juju. And we've got trombones.
Polar thinks the refresh should be fine given how rare these sales are.
None left for sale on outpost.

"(5) Please do not "refresh" the value on non-unusuals." ? :(
I discussed this with a mod and he said it should be fine given how rare sales are for this item.
this is rare enough to be allowed to have a refresh
How many times do "we" need to repeat this?
Isn't one enough?
stop with these headers
it's like you're begging for blindvotes
I think it is the other way around tbh. Like "Is this Blue Belt really shitposting? Let me click to make sure." And then they actually check the suggestion and the proof. It is more of a precautionary measure. And if someone blindvotes any of the suggestions down then there is seriously something wrong with them not questioning why I'm still able to suggest prices.
Coudln't been better explained/answered there friend ^
I meant it as a joke. no need to explain with a paragraph on how useless votes are anyways :^)
I know votes mean nothing and proof should be evaluated. just intended a friendly comment
http://prntscr.com/8pe08u No need to get salty, m8 I'm not even salty, and I don't call someone an asshole either.
Upvote. Man, strangifiers are worth a lot.
Just the Halloween ones. Unless they get re-released this year. That would be a huge killer.
So, explain to me why the price needs refreshing? It's not like it displays as outdated or anything.
It's just like with unusuals - when checking the value of an item, people will tend to take the price of it with a pinch of salt if it's an old price. I don't see how refreshing it is bad.
It sets an unfavourable precedent, in my eyes - opens the floodgates, to use legal speak; how many more suggestions are we going to see like this? How much more -frankly unnecessary- evidence are mods going to have to spend their valuable time on?
It's not just like with unusuals, because unusuals become outdated and non-unusual items do not - unless we're saying non-unusual items do become outdated now? Which, again, is dangerous ground to be treading.
The line would have to be drawn somewhere, but this item does fall under special circumstances as this is the first actual sale for items in about 2 months. The item itself only has 1 left for sale anywhere, and that is on the SCM. Either a rarity distinction or a price distinction would have to be made in the future, hence why I asked Polar if this would be ok.
Edit: The precedent has always been there, no one tends to wander into it though. The strangifier itself could be classified as a collector's item that clevelpun refers to being between regular items and unusuals.
There are far rarer and far more valuable items that are not having this distinction made, I merely question why this is the chosen starting block for such a movement. And moreover, such a drawn line would be entirely arbitrary, which worries me greatly.
I don't like what this suggestion represents for the future for bp.tf. But if you're going to throw the "Polar approved" thing at me, I suppose I either have to get on board or bail out. And what an interesting decision that will be.
We honestly need some distinction as the actual rule on rarer non-unusuals are open to interpretation at times as to whether or not they should be ruled like unusuals or like normal items. We had a similar issue when Collector's Cosmetics first began getting prices. As for why this item was chosen as the first, it is a simple reason: it recently sold. Everything has to start somewhere. While it may not be the most obvious special case item as opposed to some of the more well known vintages and uncrafts, it is still an incredibly rare item at the current time. As for me throwing "Polar Approved" at you, that should not be a deterrent as Polar is only one mod and you could bring up a valid point that he did not consider.
We did have a similar issue, and we decided, evidently, that collector's, which are far rarer than this, do not need refreshing. Hmm.
But you're right in that some formal ruling is needed on this. I agree with you on everything else, which is, refreshing :PPPP
I'd imagine that one sale isn't exactly going to take much time to check :P I can't exactly speak for the mods on this, but it's pretty obvious that this won't take much "valuable time."
Non-unusual refreshers like this are very rare (obviously, not counting range adjustments while keeping the mid value the same.) It seems like it will only ever occur on extremely rare items.
This item in particular is even rarer than some unusuals and is around the same value as an unusual. Gold Pan got the same treatment, too. I don't see why this shouldn't be refreshed.
Jesus, you two are horrible at timing this XD
Yeah yeah, I know. :P I'm assuming your response above answers mine.
Mmhm :P
Unfortunately, there is no way to define what kinds of items are exceptions. For now, I think it's fine to say that refreshers are not needed for non-unusuals. If you make a refresher for one of these you should have a solid explanation of why it's needed and/or talk to a mod beforehand.
Basically, the only items that could use the refresher are high value (20+ key) items with one sale in 2+ months. But you can't make that a rule because it's impossible to prove that there has been no other sale in 2 months. As I talked with you about this before, we just can't explicitly write out exceptions for everything, especially in situations where the exception is observed once in 10,000 suggestions. In the past collectors wouldn't have qualified for this because they were being sold around more frequently than once every 2 months, but I think now some of those might qualify too.
5 months outdated. Unique items don't have the outdated mark like unusuals. The item rarely sells and this is more to mark that it still sells at this price as to keep the price up to date. If it was needed for an unusual suggestion, a mini would be a serious pain as this almost never sells and the price would be over 6 months old and likely unusable.
Read my reply to Jacob, same applies.
