http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/27117549 Quicksold for 8
Let it ride.
I still don't get how that compare link works. I see a lot of keys and ref and cosmetics. How can I check it sold for 9 keys? You said it's easy to understand this thing yet I still can't.
Near ID matches 9 keys that cross-reference with the topi's history.
Maybe I am just stupid because I didn't understand a thing. I want to check if something sold for the price listed and I still don't know how.
I'm sorry if that came off as condescending, I do it without noticing... point number 5 on a mile-long list of why I'm not mod, huh? :P
I grant you the compare thing is at first a little confusing, stick with it and it helps :3
I check the history until I find a key (or item, whatever) that came from the buyer. Then double click on that item and it will show all items traded with it based on item IDs.
Well, I clicked on one of the keys and saw 8 more keys traded with it (9 total), but how can I be sure they are for the Topi? Also didn't saw the buyer's name in the keys history.
Keys tend to have dodgy histories because they get flipped quick.
They're there, it's what the seller was asking for, and there's nothing else really there that it COULD have sold for.
Hm, I see. I mean, I was just curious. Not that I was doubting it sold for that much. Thanks for the answers.
So for example - http://backpack.tf/profiles/76561197993989727?time=1444633200&compare=1444719600
The bonnet sold for 3 keys, right? I suggested at that price but the buyer was quickbuying it for 2 keys so I closed it. If it sold for 3 keys I should suggest it again.
Looks that way :3
ItemIDs show if the keys were in the same trade as the hat. Look at the itemID of the buyer of the hat and make sure they match with the itemID of the keys that went to the seller. All you need to do is find one item with matching itemIDs. After that the itemID tracker does the rest for you by pooling all the itemIDs that match (are very close to one another). This only works on trades involving fewer than 200-250 items. For trades bigger than that, the first and last item have IDs far enough apart that they won't get tagged as the same trade. You can manually edit the range you want, but that can result in false positives. This is rarely a problem, but it helps to understand how it all works.
So for examble the itemID of the buyer is 4104366784 and one of the keys ID is 4026880274. They are very close so the trade was the hat for the 9 keys. Is that it? If so, then I finally got it. And btw this really seems helpful. I think you mentioned on the forums that every suggestor and mod should have it installed and I agree with that.
Eh. They actually don't match here, so without adding the seller, there's no way to say for sure that it sold for 9 keys.
Matching IDs looking something like this:
http://backpack.tf/item/3764007878 - 4026880263
http://backpack.tf/item/1913396499 - 4026880257
Change in the last three digits by less than 200 and you can be pretty sure it was in the same trade.
Ah, I understand. Thanks a lot.
Glad Ol' Boggy jumped in on this one, because to be fair I knew how to use nearID but not how it worked XD
