A good friend of mine asked me to help him price this hat. He purchased it around 2 months ago, and it is the only usable sale. I have the entirety of the trade documented, along with a screen shot of the accepted trade deal from his trade history.

It's been more than 30 days since the sale. It's still valid even if he has a sale up. His B/O is also higher than the suggestion, so it's okay. Relisting the hat only invalidates the sale if it's within the 30 days of the sale being made.

you still need to wait a week. suggestions with one sale can only be priced if the current owner is not reselling.

EDIT: you have to wait a month. he has had the suggestion up for 3 weeks.

Even if the sale is over 2 months old? I could have sworn if the sale was over 30 days, it was okay. Also, the owner has informed me that the hat isn't necessarily for sale, only if he is offered a different all-class unusual will he factor it into a deal at 500 keys. Does that change anything?

Can a mod confirm or deny this? If need be, I'll wait a week.

EDIT: After rechecking the rules, I'm still a bit confused about the validity of this. The rules have nothing in them about sales listings, except that they say a hat can be priced by one sale if the owner intends to keep it. The owner only wants to sell the Bomber if it means going to a better hat, so it isn't TECHNICALLY for sale. He isn't actively trying to get 500 keys for it and isn't accepting unusual offers unless it's a different all-class unusual.

So I guess I just want some confirmation. If need be, I'll close and resuggest a week from now, but it doesn't seem sensical to do so if the hat isn't actually for resale.

If there has only been one sale on a hat and the sale is over 1 month old, then it's valid.

If an item comes to be worth over 200 keys, then 1 sale is valid regardless of whether or not there is a trade open.

This suggestion is fine; just periodically check on the seller to see if it sells, thus enabling a range.

Can do. He's a good friend of mine, and he has confided in me that he has no intentions to sell unless something awesome falls into his lap.

It has been way more than a month since the sale happened, thats all that counts. So this suggestion is perfectly fine. It will most likely be left open regardless for some time to see if another sale happens.
