So far, I like the evidence, but the only thing wrong is the buyers.

In the future, you need to use buyers to raise a price.

only 2 willing sellers at 2.43 keys at this point this looks like a quicksell.

and only 2 of those, you will get my upvote if the majority sells at that till then its a downvote.

      that one buyer counters

Can you please explain how it works with buyers? I see it frequently in price discussions

Buyer is only used to raise the price of a item, or to counter a drop.

buyers counter 2.4, and you don't have much outpost sellers for it

Buyers counter it, also i will not have my quad combo broken.

The sellers above 2.5 are unnecessary too. I'd wait a few days.

"also i will not have my quad combo broken"

          lmao

what i wanna know is why that got disliked so much, i just thought what he said was funny :/

idk if this helps or not

too lazy to check outpost atm maybe later

this is just complete and utterly destroying the tf2 economics, back in the day 1 ref was 0.035$ 1 key was 5.33 ref and 1 bud was 30 keys.... i love tf2 economics

back in your day 1 ref was 3.5 cents?

how is the fall of one single item destroying the economy mr 12 year old master economist?

                  Lol I'm sure you do.

Earbuds aren't even a currency anymore.

You're just pissed that they're dropping.

I am too, believe me. But do you see me making up bullshit about how it's ruing the economy?

                    Lol.

Buds dropped and you're so fussed about it? You're backpack is basically full of duped weps. (As in duplicate) Probably a scrapbanker. And no buds. Whilst on the other hand, *cough* .

"complete and utterly". Sorry, but I find it's "completely".

I don't think you understand how basic supply and demand works, let alone economics.

Upvote, lots of sellers below 2.5 right now.

                          rip earbuds

Sold mine very quickly at 2 keys + 8 ref. http://i.imgur.com/g2xY77Dh.jpg

Also, don't you think it's quite unfair that earbuds need such little proof to change in value, for lots of reasons?

This literally destroys any possibility of buds rising again, a few traders selling below, due to the constant downfall actually makes it drop.

Just sold my second for 2 keys and 8 ref.

                              Please stop down buds :(

You're crying because your bp is about to lose 2 ref in a ~760 ref bp?

Are you serious? Stop it, you're making me raugh so much that I forgot it's funny.

What even made buds fall so hard? Where did this start?

                                  Geel9. :^)

I guess bp.tf lures the market towards a certain direction, bp.tf intend not to change the market but in fact it does. No doubt about it. The changes the website make such as removing cool down, removing it as a currency literally keeps the downwards trend going and stops people wanting to have the item anymore. Nothing can be done.

Bp.tf removed earbuds as a currency because earbud's price started to be completely uncertain and could change dramatically through a single day. And that was not caused by bp.tf, but seller's own panic, hurried to get rid of their buds, so constantly wanting to be the cheapest, thus constantly decreading the price. That would scare the buyers off, seeing that even buying the cheapest will eventually make them lose money, forcing seller's to keep going lower, and lower, and lower. It was a vicious circle provoked by the market itself, bp.tf is not the market, bp.tf is here to analyse and report the facts that are already happening. It works a bit like 29's depression. People's panic provoked what could happen worst for them. Just one thing made them all take back their money from the banks, leading to the catastrophy we all know.

Every single time a suggestion was created/accepted, buds dropped more than before it was created. Now that cooldown is gone and bp.tf doesn't count them as a currency, neither does about 80% of the economy. Bp.tf knows they effect the market, buds were vastly changing in price aswell so they should've laid off accepting suggestions for however long it was happening, or something like that. They really need to think about what they're doing, the TF2 economy practically relies on bp.tf.

People generally started selling them for less over time

They became available in SCM but some people say the drop started before that.

To answer this question, we must go way back to when Earbuds first held extreme value.

You see, a long time ago we didn't have Steam trading. We had an in-game window that could only hold up to 8 items in a trade. This was very worrisome when it came to more expensive items like Unusuals where their prices ranged in mid-high double digit key prices. To compensate, the people acknowledged a "higher currency." Like Keys are the step up from Ref and Bills the step up from keys, we had buds who were the step up from Bills. Buds were the currency people used to trade expensive Unusuals, so they had a purpose for being so expensive. (And we're talking ~20 keys per pair)

Eventually, Steam trading came along and replaced in-game trading. With Steam trading, we could add a unlimited amount of items (save for the processing power of Valve's servers), so there was no real need for higher currencies. As a result, high denominations of currency like Bills and Buds became unstable. They fluctuated like crazy and proved very ineffective when pricing Unusuals, so backpack.tf (who had only recently came in compared to the introduction of trading) decided to switch to Keys since they were the most popular currency as well as the most stable.

Give them some time and now we have <3 Key buds. They had lost their only purpose, so now they are declining like the cosmetic they are. Hope you enjoyed my brief history lesson!

Tbh I prefer keys being unusual currency now, back in the day when you saw a hat was lets say 10 buds , you would have to work out how many keys it was....I think this is far simpler c:

Only problem is with high tier items. It'd be a pain in the ass with unusuals that are worth thousands of keys.

                                              Max's heads?

Ehh maybe for now. But what if becomes buds 2.0

                                              Good point

There are tools, scripts, and browser extensions that help users perform massive trades with ease. Only problem is Valve's sh*tty servers.

Yeah but what if its like more than 2000 keys though.

i think im the only one that isnt too upset about the fall of the buds (maybe because i didnt really start to trade seriously until a few months ago?), but even though they arent a currency anymore i do like them as a cosmetic

if you're fine with it being a cosmetic, price shouldn't matter to you at all

Pretty nice evidence, you got my vote. Buds were free in the first place to mac users. Same with the Penguin and Linux. But the Penguin isn't tradeable.

                                                  RIP><><><><

People buying them for 2.47 keys! 2.47=2.5 basically, maths rounding helps.

                                                    Bring up those beauties!

That just means it should stay at 2.5. You have no proof for raising

Found some one selling for 2 keys http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/27347823

Not enough evidence for the buyers, you need to add a lot more evidence because all you put is the sellers, and add sold ones already. Otherwise this won't work.

you don't need sales to lower

                                                          you basically just countered yourself

                                                          "My first suggestion"

                                                          1. idk tho if i should say this

                                                          2. you made it this far

                                                          3. why does it have to be about earbuds

                                                          4. you did better than me... first suggestion=troll

                                                          5. jun, u kno wat i mean

good riddance to buds, never really understood why they became currencies in the first place

Have to agree with comments here. Given more more buyers at 2.4 than there are sellers at 2.4, 2.4 flat is probably too low.
