What was the test on?
Ethanol, Biodiesel and -ose structures being used as a possible fuel in the future
Congratulations, now you know how to change the world :)
One main issue with using Organic fuels in cars is the fact that they are incredibly in efficient due to Hydrogen Bonding (Almost all biofuels have a Hydroxide Group (OH) on the molecule, which is INCREDIBLY hard to separate), therefore wasting more energy to produce the fuels as opposed to how much is gained from using them
#Science
C6H12O6 + Yeast --> 2C2H5OH + 2CO2
For Production of Ethanol
I can rattle on for days
So how would it ideally be made efficient and worthwhile?
it's efficient and worthwhile due to its abilities of being renewable as well as less Carbon emissions when burned and also the fact it's produced by natural organic processes. We all know the black stuff we burn is going to run out eventually, hell, petrol nowadays has 2% ethanol
It's not stupidly inefficient when burned, but it's less efficient than ethane, which is about 47.7 degrees at heat of Combustion, ethanol is about 28 or so
If there was a way to extract ethanol without having to crush, distill and then filter plants (It's an expensive process) we could all be running on alcohol as a fuel
I wouldn't drink it tho, a concentration higher than 15? % ethanol would kill you
