Because somebody has to!
seller (only one)
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/27203308#p64260423
sold
1 extremely clean sale at 45 keys
http://imgur.com/YACajbU
These are rare and expired; thus, sales are limited.
Because they are a usable item they are consumed immediately upon the trade, thus they are not traceable. In addition, most are held on alts, so they will not be seen in the traders bp.
The items traded for are also not traceable as the traded items are also placed in the unknown alts bp.
disclaimer = I own some and my bp value will increase, but because of rarity the market is not as free as I would like. If the guys holding on alts start selling the price may go down. Remember there are only ~400 left and Valve is looking to totally deplete the stock.
That's not a rule.
that's not a rule, and he's selling it at 45 keys anyways
Sorry I'm an idiot.
Hey man, I've sold several footprints and agree, I didn't want to suggest but I'm tired of the 2 ref offers, "bp says this..." and "your a farmer." This sell is clean, pure, and provable (it doesn't involve paypal, unusuals, or items) and is very recent. I didn't farm and I won't accept 2 ref. Nobody else has them for sale...if so please sell one at 20 keys and free the market!!!
Could you go online on steam please? Would like to talk to you privately
Holy shit, nice 78 key profit.
only if he manages to sell them both, at 45 keys, which seems, unlikely.
Yeah, let's face it, the chance of selling an item at 750% of its normal value is already extremely unlikely. I was referring to his bp value anyway :P
If only I had kept the 3 I found last year..;.
Damn nice sale, unlike the other taunts this is a REALLY huge priceraise so I would definitly need to see more evidence for it. At least another sale or offers >20 keys.
look in the trade thread you will see more than one offer of ~$100 for footprints. The horseshoes would blow your socks off, but the community can only digest so much. Remember when Spectral Spectrum was 20-25 keys a while back...and its a much more common spell
I agree - spells in general are definitely rising.
I have one applied onto my unusual, time to add 20 keys to the price :p
nice sale. Are there any on scm?
None on the market.
well here is the spell monopoly gg (this means my max's will have a 45 key spell now :D)
I can't wait for people to highball their 1.33 craft hat to me saying "45 key spell makes it worth at least 20!!!"
no need to wait: http://forums.backpack.tf/index.php?/topic/45447-selling-footprint-spell-hallmark/
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) Hey I try.
RIP spell applied on a craft hat... and I have it :/
This is surprising
Omg...i have one.
noooooooooooooooooo, i wanted this for my unusual. Upboat
yes please my beams demo fro has this add 20 key value plz
The value in these spells is that they are raw. A raw spell has the ability to make any object you want (including you) and unusual. Think of it as a method to build an unusual of your choice (like in DOTA.) A spell that has been applied loses a significant amount of value. Once applied it becomes somebody else's dream. I don't know if it would even retain 25% of its raw value once applied, although it will certainly add value to the object. The market will have to determine this. I just don't think you can treat a raw spell as you would a common paint. When you think about it only 400 more unusuals with this effect will ever be able to be made.
just saying, HOW DO YOU SELL THIS FOR 45 KEYS?????
Thank You.
I've actually sold many spells at 45 keys and over, most being in mixed (pure, items, paypal) I have shared a good number of these trades with bp.tf staff to prove sales. If you read through my footprints trade on outpost you will find several public offers to buy. People pay 6000 keys for a hat (I can't provide proof because I saw no screenshots and it wasn't transparent) why not 45 to make themselves into an unusual.
If you are trying to sell with no success there are two reasons; this time of year trading is historically in a lull and bp.tf refuses to keep pricing current. It works this way; as new traders enter the market and seek advice on how to price they come here, they find outdated, pre-retirement pricing. They price their spells based on what they see and trust; in effect they end up getting sharked (with unintentional help from bp.tf) by traders who buy nearly their entire inventory within hours of posting. This creates a false pricing pressure on the spell economy where buyer and seller don't negotiate the price, but rather bp.tf regulates the price and a great number wait to (imho) shark these new traders; thus, why I started making suggestions again.
tl:dr I posted a trade and took offers, offers came in at anywhere from 25 keys pure (lower end spells) to 100 keys+ in items (horseshoes) for the various footprints spells. I then set prices based on these offers. At this point bp.tf is regulating the market and by non action is giving the seller the illusion that there is no proof to support these suggestions. This has led to a direct deterioration of the footprint economy, a violation of their user's trust, and damage to the free market.
These don't exactly fly off the shelf. It's a very niche market, and there's a new seller up now. But I think it's clear the suggested price is closer to where this should be listed than the current price.
