Suggestion: Mann Co. Supply Crate Key at 17 ref

Classifieds support, not using as primary proof here so screenshot seems unnecessary but ~1 page at 17 at time of posting, none below. Buyers up to 17, most ~16.88.

Keys aren't unstable, they are the only fixed* item relative to usd, it's metal that's unstable and less valuable in this case.

*Generally within the same area of value almost all the time.

Edit: Also doesn't help that refined isn't updated nearly enough e.g. it's currently outdated at 4 months.

The price of refs hasn't been updated because it's still $0.12-0.13. I know because i made that suggestion and have checked once in a while to see if it has changed, and it has not.

Key price in refs (in-game market) and ref price in USD (Paypal trades) aren't closely related.

You do show a lot of buyers at 16.33 & 16.44 Is there any proof they are not able to buy at those prices as well though?

How would I prove that, exactly? :P I'm sure some of them have bought, with the huge amount of buyers, but the price is going up pretty quickly as well - there weren't buyers at 16.77+ even yesterday, so not sure. The sheer amount of buyers below seems like reasonable proof to remove it to me, but I haven't done currency before so if a range would be preferable I can resuggest.

There's some logic to including a buying price if it's still a common trading point, but here I think the amount of buyers above bp.tf price, up to and including the price I am suggesting, should be enough to counter it. Open to opinions though.

The point I am making is simple. If there are sales for the lower prices, that proves that there are sellers at that price and as such, then the reflected range should be the newly suggested price, not just the top end.

You missed my whole point. If they are selling at a lower price, then that's a valid price. You just cant say it shouldn't be counted just because they could go to someone else that's paying more. It all comes down to proof, and I simply asked if there was proof of the lower prices being able to buy at that price. Mind you, Im sitting on over 1300 keys on an alt, I am just as happy as the next person if keys go up. So, my questioning has nothing to do with trying to keep the prices down. If buyers are able to buy at 16.33 or 16.44, then that should be included in the range.

I get what you are saying. I bought keys today for 16 ref too, but it's not a common trading point at all, that's why it shouldn't be included. For a currency, thousands of trades happen every day and if someone can only buy 1 every once in a while at a lower price it shouldn't be in the range

I don't disagree with what you are saying. But, proving yourself that you can get keys lower means it should not have a solid price suggestion of 17 refined, that's all.

Well there are just as many sales above 17 ref as there are under, so I think those can be called outliers.

This price is definitely better than the current one even if it's not 100% accurate

But most of the sellers at the current price sell almost instantaneously.

I've sold keys and within a few seconds I've got about 5 adds and 3 trade offers.

I don't disagree with you, but as I said I haven't done currency suggestions before so I'm not aware of how to figure out how many sales above/below are occurring. The fact that there are a huge number of buyers below 17 and a lot of sellers above, with both buyers and sellers meeting at that price point, suggests that 17 is a good value to me. If people who buy/sell keys regularly want to chip in with some proof of regular sales above and/or below I am happy to widen the range to include them.

I think it's also relevant here that the price is changing fairly quickly - if you look at the other open suggestion which was made yesterday, most of the sellers have either quicksold or raised their prices significantly, so sales that are not extremely recent may not be reflective of the market as it stands today.

Gud proof. Now we can only wait till this gets in the front page and every 12 year old "economist" comes here to whine about this sudden jump in price.

When keys will be again 20 ref it will be a normal day on bp.tf with 10 or more suggestions per day like "save the economy" or '"tf2 is dying cause keys value is too high" etc.

Take a visit to any trade site and you'll see keys have 'become' 17 refined. Can't deny the proof, and if needed to stronger strengthen your post I can give some screenshots of several sold @ 17, and several bought @ 17.
