Now there is going to be hate probably for calculating reverse overpay but this is to counter what appears to be an problem with a rule.

Suggestion rules state "The issue of reverse overpay If the suggestion is for an offered hat (where the person offering on another hat is technically expected to overpay), do not calculated overpay or reverse overpay. Take both hats at 100% of their original average value."

The degroot was not taken at 100% its value, I was told that it is because of the hat being outdated. However this also means that an offered hat has ended up being priced lower than the hat it was offered on? Little odd.

Please see: http://forums.backpack.tf/index.php?/topic/6033-guide-for-unusual-price-suggestions/?p=480374

For more details as I have created a suggestion to add to the rules that could counter further problems and has examples relating to rarer hats.

Feedback welcome :)

hmm, I would not go as far as doing the reverse overpay thing.

Its really hard to have one standard for overpay. Of course, not everyone accepts the same amount of overpay, and people value offers differently, but its impossible to put everyone's individual subjective view in a rule fit for pricing. The bp.tf price is meant as a reflection for the whole trading community (which is hard enough as it is :P) but one persons individual appraisal shouldnt warrant reverse overpay here.

I guess 35-45 would be best here :P

I was told this might happen. Foamy you are my idol for price suggestions but i have to disagree with the way the previous suggestion was done. An offer of a 2 month outdated hat on a lower price recently update hat to create a loophole meaning that the offered hat (overpay expected) is now priced below the hat it was offered for. This standard could create some real issues and manipulation of prices. I have given some examples of how it could play out in the link above.

You are welcome to resuggest at 35-45 but I am still against the 35 even being accepted in the first place because if it is the case then item overpay is meaningless and too many rarely sold hats would end up priced the same as hats they were offered on which are updated regularly

If you have an issue with a rule, a suggestion is not the place to raise it. This suggestion WILL fail, and nothing will come of it. What you should do, is close this, resuggest at 35-45, and create a thread in the forums.

http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/27337544 - PE robin for 3 weeks at 35 keys. You are valuing it here at 42 keys after reverse overpay. Robin honestly shouldn't be valued more than 35 here and I would argue that the sale value there should actually be 32.
