The pure wasn't involved, it was traded for the unusual weapon that also came into his inventory that day. Also, it wasn't offered, so overpay is required. But he had a B/O of 70, so cap it at that.

Oh, I didn't see that :P. Overpay should still be applied though.
Since the keys were added with the Attendant, it's reasonable to infer that the Attendant was probably the offered hat. It isn't guaranteed to be true, but the majority of the time the trader who provides adds is the one who offered.
