i can confirm that i bought it off of scm (sale #1) but the keys were on sale at that time and he bought 45 keys (gunmettle key=supply key). 38 should not be in the range as user recieved 45 keys for it. that's y we did the deal this way. check his bp the next day. he wanted it this way and it was a pure deal 45 keys. Your facts are a little off :) range should be 43-45

That's what Jacob (BP TF Mod) told me to do this range though.

well he got 45 keys pure what he wanted, so that doesn't make sense. we would have done it differently. had he wanted supply keys i woulda just bought them from marketplace.tf then for cash or done straight paypal

Meh, I'll let this for the mods to decide, if they want this to be resuggested at 43 - 45, that's fine by me.

ok, well i was offering 45 pure, his asking price in any case (edit: to be fair, i woulda paid him up to 60 pure, i didn't care. just wanted a stormy misc for pyro and ofered much more in overpay lol)

The reasoning behind using the SCM sale and not the 45 keys he bought afterwards is because the keys were on sale. Gun mettle keys were worth less than normal keys at the time, so it makes no sense to value 45 gun mettle keys as 45 normal keys for that sale. It makes much more sense to use the SCM payment.

<comment removed> edit in it's place: whatever. see it how u want. idc. no intent of selling in the near future anyhows. would love to see this logic applied to paypal purchases lol

There's a couple of things you're failing to consider here.

For a start (referring to your paypal sale example) there has been a situation in the past where in a paypal sale, the two traders agreed on a certain value for keys, but it was different to what they realistically were. This goes back to the old "but by that logic, if i put my price for my n&b coupe at 40000 keys, then it's worth 40000 keys" type of statement, which of course, is illogical.

That raises another issue though, something you're not considering - gun mettle keys were worth ~$2 USD on the store, from memory? If he bought 45 keys from the store, then his purchase would've been $90. What happens to that other $20? We can't just ignore it. Backpack.tf pricing is irrelevant here, because keys were very readily available from the store at ~$2.

Also, you edited your comment just before I replied, rip lol.

ok let me break this down for ya into smaller bites - offers here http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/27525865 - he has declined a couple decent offers already and is firm on 48 KEYS only. There is another supporting sale at 43 keys. I paid cash 44 keys. Seller WANTED that amount so he could buy 45 gun mettle keys and did so. The guy i traded with turned down much more from me in terms of overpay in order for us to do the deal this way. This 38 number is strictly derived from math and is not an actual "traded for" amount and therefore shouldn't be included. There's no need for a range on this unusual is all I'm trying to get at. Steaming is updated at 36, aces at 43, so 38 doesn't even makes sense. If you don't see that it's fully worth the 45 ish keys... I don't know what else I can say. If this pricing was based solely on the scm I could see it being valid to suggest a range, but it isn't. Make sense?

38 does feel pretty low. I'm happy to keep this up for a bit for a few more sales. Since there's only one on the market, I wouldn't be surprised if he's able to sell for close to his b/o.

    Upvote, reasonable price range.

Given that it sold in a day for 43 pure, I would have probably gone with 43 flat here. But I won't go against the votes.
