http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/27354032 - Quicksold without a bump
It didn't quicksold because there was no B/O. It was just an offer and the seller accepted it, in this case it's not a quicksell.
It isn't? I always wondered about that. If you ask for offers and someone offers you pure price right away and you accept it is it a quicksell?
Never heard of that before, but it sounds logical and you have another sale at 12 keys anyways, so upvote
A couple things.
(1) Outliers are defined by deviation from the mean, not how long it takes to sell.
(2) The faster an item sells, the more likely it is to be an outlier because it has less time to attract other offers. In fact, NOT having a pure b/o makes it MORE likely to be an outlier because traders tend to stay away from trades like that. If a hat sells within a day for the first offer it gets, it's unlikely that it got its full value. I've seen a number of times the argument that a hat was never posted on outpost or bp.tf so it's not a quicksell. If a hat sells off-market without even a chance to see offers, it's even more likely to be an outlier.
At the end of the day, we are trying to figure out what the full value on a hat is. Selling for the first offer within a day COULD mean it didn't get full value but it could also mean the person got lucky. That's why all sales are considered in the context of other sales and the value is more important.
