Electron configurations are weird - Shell 1 and 2 of atoms fill, then Shell 3 half fills, Shell 4 starts, Shell 3 finishes, Shell 5 starts, Shell 4 finishes etc

You've heard this as "2, 8, 8, 2 --> 2, 8, 18, 2"

The configuration is weird because of the stability an instability caused by the repulsion of differention electrons in different electrons with eachother

It's not that difficult once you get the hang on of it

Its like 1s2 - 2s2 - 2p6 - 3s2 - 3p6 -4s2 - 3d10 - 4p6 for the elements until Krypton, 1st shell :2, 2nd shell: 8(2+6), 3rd shell: 18 (2+8+10) 4th shell (more than i posted above): 32 (2+8+10+14) for these shells total. #RaisesGlasses

Can you explain that method to me? I've always known it the style in the other comment: 1s2 - 2s2 - 2p6 - 3s2 - 3p6 - 4s2 - 3d10 - 4p6 - 5s2 - 4d10 - 5p6 - 6s2 - 5d1 - 6f4 for Promethium
