the fact he specifically asked for all that paint is even weirder

He is hoping for a good investment, for the day that black and white paint return to their old values, since he doubtlessly knew that this piece of garbage would not fetch 43 keys

i don't think the value of uncraftable black and white paints will ever return to their old values, but still a good trade

On the SCM, if it's craftable or uncraftable doesn't actually matter. It's not the first time the White/Black paint goes down to that price, then after some months it always get back to the old price.
