There should always be enough evidence to back up the new proposed value. However, it appears that the evidence is not strong enough, or cherry-picked in a way that does not represent the actual market value of the item. Therefore, this suggestion has been closed.

Only one being sold. It is being sold at 20 keys. It is being sold by: http://backpack.tf/u/76561198030905642

None sold before: http://www.trade.tf/listings/search/Sell/Unusual/Strontium%20Stove%20Pipe/%2367/All/1

    Seller=/=Sold

I cannot find any evidence of one being sold. There are very few of them.

        There are five of this.

Not Impossible to find the past sales of this.

          Give me some then.

            That's your job.

              I already said I can't find any. ·—·

                  1) Trade.tf is honestly a really bad place to determine sales for unusuals. Find existing versions of the stovepipe, search through the histories for times when the owner changed, go from there. Remember, sales older than 2-3 months are invalid.

1.5) Trade.tf removed sales anyway, so you wouldn't even be able to tell if there were any.

                  2) If there really are no sales as you say there are, then it's not time to give this a price yet. Wait until there are and resuggest then.

But how can one sell it if there is no price? In that case all unpriced unusuals should be deleted because you can't sell them. It is a problem that makes itself. None sold, but one for sale. It is the only basis.

                      That..doesn't make sense.

One can make a trade with its' owner determining it's base value to sell, and if the trade passes, then a sale is made and the suggeston will be made.

Hell, if we follow your logic then there will never be prices for unusuals, since every unusual started out as unpriced unusuals.

So you agree with me? I would buy it, but I don't have the money to. It is a nice unusual, but it is unpriced, and it deserves to be priced.

You want to buy it? Go ahead. Oh, don't got the money? No trade, no sale, no suggestion.

And no, I don't agree with you, til someone actually pays effort to track down sales for this hat to price it.

What makes you think he's agreeing with you? It seems pretty obvious he's not, tbh.

But, since you seem to have missed his message, I'll rephrase it for you.

You can still sell an unusual if it doesn't have a price. They all started with no price at all, if you can't sell unusuals when they have no price, how did any of them get one? Using your logic, they should never have been given a price to begin with.

New owners of unusuals set a price which they think is reasonable, someone else pays it, exchange happens. That's how sales work. Doesn't matter whether bp.tf says the price is accurate or not, if people are willing to pay it, the price adjusts to fit. This is what happens for all items, regardless of their quality or if they have a price on bp.tf at all.

It especially doesn't matter if an item 'deserves' to have a price. If that's true, all unpriced items deserve one. You're welcome to make suggestions for every unpriced item in existence, I'll appreciate the rep points I'll get from downvoting all of them.

Attempting to track down the seller. He is currently offline.

You could talk to other past owners as well, ask what they sold it for. There are 5 in existence, there have been other owners in the last 2 months you could talk to. I'd be really surprised if they all were offline as well.

Last one sold a year ago.

                                      1) You can tell when an unusual sold by looking at the 'last seen' date on the item's history page. You can see that next to Mr. Blix it says 'Fri, 09 Jan 2015", meaning he hasn't owned it since Jan 9, 2015. Meaning that's when it last sold.

                                      2) There are 5 in existence. Track down a couple of the others and see when they sold.

                                      3) If, after all, there have been no sales in the last 2 months, then it's not time to give this a price. Wait until there are some sales, then resuggest then.

                                      4) It's better to upload screenshots of you talking to the past owner(s) to imgur or someplace than it is to paste the log here. puush is a good alternative if you don't know how to use imgur.

        Do you have any proof?

I gave proof. This user is the only person selling it:http://backpack.tf/u/76561198030905642

Proof =/= sufficient proof. You need sales to price an unusual, which you did not provide. This thing's going to stay unpriced until you find some sales. Whether that entails Julia's comparison script or adding past owners is up to you, but you need to get it done somehow if you want this to have a price.

How can one sell without a price?

What, you think that everything started out with a price?

No, I am saying we NEED to price it, otherwise it will never sell.

It will be priced, IF someone tracks down sales or if that seller sells his away.

But being unpriced is a deterrent from buyers, becuase they do not know if it is fair or not.

You're assuming an item needs a price on backpack.tf to be fair. This site is a pricing guide, not a bible. TF2 trading existed for a year before backpack.tf did, but people still traded then. If the people on each side walks away happy, it's a fair trade. Simple as that.

Attempting track down, the seller is offline at the moment.

mods why cant you close this, you will close solid suggestions but this is just a flame war now.
