14 instances of this hat exist. Have you checked the histories on each one to confirm there have been no other sales in the past two-three months, because unless there have been zero other sales, you cannot price it by a single sale. =(

judging by http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/27969284 buyer wants to keep that unusual + there are no other sales, even duped ones

Well, assuming there have been no sales and actually checking that there have been no sales are two separate things entirely. I just wanted to be sure that the others were checked for recent sales. So my question still stands: Did someone check EACH HISTORY to make sure there are no other sales? If there is even one other sale, pricing this hat based on a single sale won't fly.

No need to give rafiolzol a hard time. He obviously has a solid pure sale. If you would like to provide counter proof, go ahead. You also CAN update unusual prices with just one sale. He's NOT making a new price.

"No need to give rafiolzol a hard time."

Sorry, I must have missed the memo where politely reminding people of the rules in place for accepting price suggestions constitutes as giving someone a hard time.

This is precisely why there's an entire section in the forums for single sales. And yes, you are correct in the notion that hats can be updated with a single sale, but I've never heard of that happening with a hat that has 14 copies in existence. I could understand if the hat is 1 of 1 or 1 of 2, but there's 13 others in existence. SURELY there's at least one other recent sale?

I mean hell, the guide polar wrote up explicitly state this, in its own section nonetheless:

"Any hat can be priced based on a single sale if ALL these criteria are met:

            - There are no other recent sales in the last 3 months

            - The hat went to a collector or person who intends to keep the hat. A collector can be identified by looking at the person's trade history, item history of similar unusuals in the backpack OR if the owner has not resold the hat 1 month after the sale occurred."

Simply assuming there are no other sales and not checking isn't the way to go about it. Be thorough and ensure there aren't any other sales, and then we can consider a single pure sale.

First of all, I would say that you're being a bit passive-aggressive. Second of all, yes, you can update hats with one sale. No matter how many are in existence.

              There are more as well..

Still, it seems that people are completely willing to cut corners when it would normally inconvenience them to follow protocol. It would seem I'm going to have to find another sale to force this suggestion to be closed. What a shame that some can't take that initiative themselves in order to be as thorough and precise as possible. I redact this statement, as OP has informed me that, according to Premium, there indeed are no other recent sales on this hat.

Are you saying that the pricing moderators aren't thorough?

Only if suggestions are passed without being adequately checked. For the most part, they do a damn good job assessing that provided proof is thorough enough. But there have been some questionable suggestions that flew under the radar in the past.

                Exception 2: Rare Hats

Any hat can be priced based on a single sale if ALL these criteria are met:

                - There are no other recent sales in the last 3 months premium confirms, no other sales

                - The hat went to a collector or person who intends to keep the hat. A collector can be identified by looking at the person's trade history, item history of similar unusuals in the backpack OR if the owner has not resold the hat 1 month after the sale occurred. linked you the trade above + not listed for sale

                  "premium confirms, no other sales"

Thank you. This was literally the only thing I wanted to be sure of in this suggestion. If this is indeed true, price away and you have my support. No idea why I was jumped on for suggesting someone check this...

                    Right, rafiozol is premium....

These rules come from the subsection of the guide that discusses pricing unpriced hats, and they are meant to apply to unpriced hats specifically. Obviously anyone suggesting a price for any unusual should be as thorough as possible, but the specific rules that you're quoting are not meant to be applied in this way.
