I sold my Dead Presidents Well-Rounded Rifleman for 34 keys, a Strange El Caballero, 7 Refined Metal, and 2 Hats.

According to backpack.tf the hat was duped.

If I am doing this wrong, just let me know and I will close the suggestion.

Given this has newly become an All-Class Hat, it can be considered, technically, a "new hat" and shouldn't be priced with Duped Sales, as that would be underpricing the Clean versions.

Well when someone with a clean sale comes forward, I'll take this suggestion down.

This suggestion isn't valid up or not.

            Why isn't it valid?

              Because of what I said...

So new hats aren't allowed to have price suggestions? If there is a problem with it being duped, I commented below about how the guide says it's perfectly fine to use duped hat sales as prices suggestions. If you can show me what rule says it is invalid, then I'll take it down.

New hats are allowed to have price suggestions.

Imagine if this were an unpriced hat. Duped Sales cannot be used to price those. What I meant by the "technically" part and then on is that with this hat becoming All-Class it was "technically" a new hat, and thus Duped Sales cannot be used to price it, as the Clean All-Class ones of these are worth more. It'd be best to wait for clean sales.

When there are clean sales, can't we just make a new suggestion for the price? I mean, if someone is willing to pay 35 keys for a duped version of a hat, surely they would pay more for a regular version. I just don't see the harm.

Yes, when there are clean sales you can make a new suggestion. This is not a Clean Sale. If a Duped one sells for 35 Keys, then the price should not be set at that if it's a "new" hat. Sure, they'll pay more for 35 Keys, but there's a large number of people that'd blindly follow the price of 35 Keys, even if theirs is Duped.

Okay, should I take it down then?

                        I'll take it down.

        Oh, it's duped?

"If the hat you are pricing is gifted or duped, you cannot lower the value of its clean version based on its sale. Sales of duped hats can be used as adjuncts or as proof to raise the value on an unusual."

It says in that guide that duped hat sales can be used as proof for the increase of price.

ok, but wouldn't it make more sense to use a clean sale to raise the price? It's not like this is 1:1 or 1:2.

I don't know, are there any clean sales? I was just suggesting this because it made sense. People are wanting this hat now that it is all-class, and this is proof, no?

You can raise with dupe sales. It typically means that the hat is worth at least that, and the clean ones could go for more.

If a hat supposed to be of "inferior quality" sells for more than the current price for the "superior quality", then it's enough to do a raise. that's logic. ^^
