Because the holy rules say a sale where there are more than one item is too complex for the human brain to process and thus can't be valid.

A note about complex sales

Multi-hat trades involving 4 or more hats should be avoided when pricing unusuals ~~unless the suggestion is for a high end hat (worth >10 buds).~~ silly old rules .Basically, if a hat is a small piece in a large deal, that sale should not be used as proof.

I'm not sure where I said it was your fault though. By the way, I don't think we can call the bonk "a small piece", it was like 40% of the value on my side. And yeah, that rule is plain stupid, most people seem to agree with that, by the looks of the other current suggestion. I'm sure a mod will soon drop by and tell us what the hell should be going on. :p

Oh yeah, it's ultra accusatory. But, against the rule itself. I just don't understand the logic behind it: if I accepted to sell an item for item overpay, even if it is part of a bigger deal, and calculations show capping is possible, then it comes to absolutely the same: I made a trade where I considered I got what I found suitable enough. I mean, if the hat represented like 5%, and was considered as "sweet", then of course it should not be used. If most of the hats are outdated and a thousand minis would need to be used, then okay, let's move on. But here, it seems like we are shadowing what the real price should be just because of a rule that does not necessarily make up for a fairer pricing.

I can only point you towards what Foamy says on that suggestion I linked, pal. Like I said, if you disagree with it, you need to go beyond me.
