You cannot price an item off of duped sales if clean copies have ever sold, as it is not fair to the owner(s) of the clean version(s)
Why can you price an item off of a dupe if a clean hasn't sold then?
Dupes can be used to raise prices, not lower.
Disregarding this suggestion, lets say an unusual is 1 of 2. If one is clean other is duped and the clean one is in a collector's bp, why shouldn't you be able to price it off of a dupe?
Because as long as a clean one exists, its valued higher than duped ones, and pricing it off dupes mis-interprets the true value of the unusual.
What if there are 5 clean ones in scammer bps and 3 duped? Should you never price it again?
Its not fair for the owners of clean copies for the price of an item to be lowered with the duplicate. Still a thing, scammers are still people
that doesn't make any sense xD
What if its 1 of 2 and a clean one gets deleted and only duped left... Do you update it?
If it gets deleted, then it doesn't exist anymore, right? So you can then price it off of dupes. While a clean one that has sold exists, it is not fair to price it off of dupes.
Bob is correct, therefore i would have to downvote...
There are rare exceptions where hats can be dropped based on duped sales if cleans exist and have sold in the past.
http://backpack.tf/suggestion/5648de2dba8d88205ca94a96 there is only one clean one that cannot be traded (in a tradebanned backpack)
http://backpack.tf/suggestion/564674bfb98d887c72e94fd5 there are clean ones, but the price was already based on dupes
The current veil price is based on this item:
http://backpack.tf/item/561503610
which is a dupe. Im not sure in this case, since Im quite sure it was clean at the time of the sale it was priced with, so id have to discuss that with other mods
Discussed this with other mods as well.
The last clean sale was roughly a year ago. It actually sold for a duped moon veil + presumably cash (knowing jewlander, who commonly trades cash and is known to specificly care about histories of items)

Having said that, this trade probably should not be used here for two reasons:
- The clean one "recently" moved (its about a year ago but still). When I checked this, I saw a lot of names repeating in the history of the last exchanged clean one, so I figured it had not sold since may 2013 (which was longer ago than the last accepted suggestion). Most of the cases where hats are dropped based on duped sales are when clean ones literally havent sold in years, and this one moved after the last huge currency change. Its tricky to make an official rule for where the threshold would be for these situations, but the second point is gonna make the decision easier here. Also, I noticed that this exact item history was used when this was last priced. The hat was clean at the time it was used to price this. Especially since the other clean one sold after this one was used to set the price, I guess its best to let this one keep its clean value.
- Other than the above, the nature of the last clean trade shows that it's unfair to value a clean and a dupe at the same value, since a duped one sold with adds for a clean one. That would directly disprove of this, which is an indication that clean and duped would be roughly the same value, which clearly isnt the case here.
These situations are always tricky, but I believe that it is best to leave this outdated. This could function as a duped mini, though.
