Dammit its capped XD rip me
http://backpack.tf/profiles/76561197999173629#!/compare/1464480000/1464566400
~bought for a C.H. HWNN (~pending sugg at 245) + 16 (falkirk) + 150 (tossle) = 411
Capped at 320 b/o http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/28208325
Too bad i cant make it 411 kek, rip my almost 100 keys.
Going by that B/O seems ridiculous, specially when it sold for such a huge amount above it, the trade was up for like 24 hours even.
Yeah, idk, I wish i could make it 411, I really wanted the hat, and will probably be here in my inv for a while. I should of checked the b/o before.
What I mean by my comment is ignore the B/O and go with 411, the hat is a 1 of 1 and capping it at a B/O that existed for 24 hours isn't fair to you.
But would the mods accept that? idk
Buyout was 300 for months:
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/27567341
Then why should he not cap at 300? The rule is so dumb.
I mean, he would've taken 300, so a buyout cap at 300 could work. Though we don't know for sure, so going with 320 is fine I guess.
I'm so confused lol. I wanted this but.. to lose 100 keys in the process.. ;/
He could have taken 300, he could've taken 320, but yet he took unusuals worth 411, so the price should be 411.
Like 1/100 pay pure for unusuals, going with pure values all the time just destroys the ability to resell at what you actually paid.
There should be a slot on the backpack.tf price that says "Price in items" then. If the price is X Keys, the idea is that it can sell for X Keys. Not that it will, but oh well
It might have sold for 320 keys, if the backpack.tf price was 411, that is the funny part, it's basically the complete opposite of their intention with the rule in place.
I'll make it known that I had the fullest of intentions to pay AT LEAST 350 in unusuals.
^yeah konata offered something... i cant remember tho haha he was there
But as previously mentioned, pure =/= unusuals, and backpack.tf prices are supposed to show pure values, as previously mentioned. Not that it does (again, as previously mentioned). Though everyone always wants a discount when paying pure, so it kinda backfires.
I have to agree with u hex
It just means that the unusuals offered aren't actually worth 411 in pure and are probably inflated. The only fair way to compare values on hats across the board is by determining what they sell for in pure. For example, a lot of high tier modests sell consistently at their full listed value in pure. Almost all sales are in pure. It's not fair to value them the same as another hat listed at the same amount but can't sell in pure for that much in months. That's why we have caps. 411 here is not destroying value. It's emphasizing how inflated the hats with which you paid are.
All of them are indate, none of them are inflated really, the HWNN has been multi class for ages and just is going up again, the falkirk has been out for ages and 1/1 and very recently updated and the tossle was very recently updated too.
I paid near full prices for this too at their times. (Except the HWNN, i paid the bp.tf price at the time before, so i guess "50 keys profit") but still losing around 111-50 = 61 keys in this trade
Oh well. So you want me to resuggest at 300?
And i was still selling those for full price + more, like the scorching fedora offer + gym + Keys which is almost 170 for the tossle and other offers for the HWNN, the falkirk (only 16) was the only thing i wasnt getting great offers on
I wouldnt of done this trade, because i thought my math calculated 311, not 411.
If a buyout has only been open for a day (or like less than a week when it concerns high tiers) Im okay ignoring buyouts if it sold far above that (depending on what it sold for, though). If this hadn't been listed for 300 for months, then ~411 would have been okay.
However, if an item has been available for 300 for 5 months, then anyone that would really want it should have been able to sell his items to gather the pure for it. A buyout cap at 300 will definitely be needed here
You're foamy you don't know anything >:( *sarcasm*
But rip my 100 keys :(
Well, rip your 111 keys* o_o
Since polar didnt reply, can u read my thing i posted a day ago above ur comment?
Well, none of those hats are updated based on pure sales. Point here remains that the hat has been available for 300 keys for 5 months. in that time, no one offered him 300 keys. Dont you think it is weird to now value this hat at 411 when it could not sell at 300 for 5 months?
To anyone that brings up the "destroying value" and "unfair since it underprices hats":
Its the other way round. Hats that sell for other hats and are not BO capped are almost always overvalued. For every hat, people can check out the suggestions to see what hats actually sold for.
I meant the "Should i resuggest at 300" part

mm yeah but..buttttttt
