There appears to be no problem with this suggestion. Only sale since being made all class and doesnt appear to be on the market for resell.
This is fine and a solid first suggestion.
Where you are getting this "provide evidence for 3rd gen effects" I have no idea.
Any hat can be priced based on a single sale if ALL these criteria are met:
- There are no other recent sales in the last 3 months
- The hat went to a collector or person who intends to keep the hat. A collector can be identified by looking at the person's trade history, item history of similar unusuals in the backpack OR if the owner has not resold the hat 1 month after the sale occurred.
For the hat to become all class does not justify the means of being able to set it at any high price. There needs to be a common ground of where the price needs to be reasonably set at. Yes, this price looks fine IF you go and look at the other same hats with the same tier effects. I'm informing him that providing more evidence than just one sale that HE created is kinda manipulating the prices, because I could meet your criteria of finding a hat with a old price suggestion and act as a collector, and buy them at whatever price I want and make it that price.
1st criteria - yes the price suggestion is a year old
2nd criteria - There does NOT appear to be any other arcana/salty dogs in his bp.
I still stand with what I explained because price manipulation is still a possible variable here.

Also if you look at the averages on effects of spellbound and arcana, they are practically the same, so as I say "provide evidence for 3rd gen effects" I mean, look at the effects that are worth around the same, and try to provide a close estimate for this hat.

Whether you agree or not, when a hat becomes all class it does change its price. Sometimes a little. Sometimes alot. It depends on the hat. For example the Bot Dogger and Dapper are all class but thus far their prices have not increased substantially because they are still seen as low tier hats.
The Cotton Head many treated as a direct upgrade from the KE so its prices became largely changed. The Patriot Peak is being treated by many as an upgrade from the TC so its prices too are going higher.
This is not manipulation of a price. Evidence has been provided of what he paid for the hat which now sits in his bp.
Relating to existing hats with the same tier effect is not a way suggestions work. You also requested proof with 3rd gen effects which isnt anywhere close to the type of effect Arcana is.
Price manipulation is not being shown here. The B/O was 500. The buyer paid 425.
There is nothing wrong with making a suggestion of the hat you bought. Mnay do it if its the only sale. I have done it plenty of times.

1st criteria met.
2nd criteria (he is not reselling) so it has been met. The suggestion could be up for a month to be sure but in the meantime it stands that he isnt reselling so this 1 sale is fine.
You cannot compare it to other hats with the same effect because it simple does not work like that. All suggestions on that premise get closed because it is not a viable indicator of the hats value.

This will be left up for a while, probably a month to see if he resells, so you dont have to worry about 'manipulation'. Also, you cannot judge the value of something based on another effect or hat. It's largely up to personal preference.
In this case he's saying it's not going to be resold, so going to accept. Doubt we'll get any other sale any time soon.
