Burning Flames Tipped Lid
no mini for lid
why does venom still have access to premium
i was wondering about that as well, venom is a steam friend with nearly every guy who unboxed something good
Venom told me he got banned from everything except the usage of premium. Backpack.tf ultimate sell out xD
Comments on topic pls :D, and trades with sharks are allowed for pricing.
I should not have it deceives many
Why should it be invalid? Let the value be based on the crappy price it was sold for. Surely you don't think the sharker should profit, do you?
ge is 350 and he bought pe for 300. . he resold it already, and told edits to price it. He already profited off it
Where does this information come from? Its just that you certainly say a lot of things but you never have sources for them and usually end up being wrong, so I was curious is all.
Trades with marked scammers are invalid, that's according to the unusual suggestion guide, using common sense the same should apply to sharkers, after talking with a mod I have gotten the response that there is no rule set in stone for this type of situation, we'll have to wait for a mod here.
If you ask me here, every sale should be considered valid to use unless it's one of the following scenarios:
-An outlier for obvious reasons; Too low or too high to use. Common sense dictates us to think that a sale is so low that anyone would pay that much, or too high that compared to other sales or B/Os that it wouldn't resell for that ever again.
-If the sale is involving a Marked Scammer, or someone who has been mentioned explicitly to not use sales with.(Ravenholmzombies for example. He's not marked as a scammer, but any sales involving him are not to be used for suggesting.) If the mods decide that any sale involving Venom is invalid so be it, but so far there's nothing about that being mentioned anywhere.
If we were to bar any and all "shark" sales(which we should be already doing by determining them as Outliers), then we'd be also cutting off any sales where the "sharker" ends up paying a fair amount for a hat(If venom bought this for say 50 keys, then this would be an entirely different matter).
I'd love to go more in-depth with this, but I feel like it wouldn't really be relevant to this suggestion. If the woodsman doesn't manage to resell this suggestion should be fine.
You have as little influence on this as every other normal user, the ones who will decide are the mods and as I said this topic is currently being discussed.
I know my comment has no influence about anything, this is just merely my opnion from what i've seen things being handled as, and this should pass if it doesn't resell.
If the mods want to take a "dead man tell no tales" approach by making any sales with banned users invalid then i'm not against it, but besides Ravenholm or someone banned for actually scamming I've never seen that happen really, so I see no reason for this to not pass.
EDIT: I thought the Burning Tipped Lid sale was a bulk sale. Well.... Not sure what to think of this, but the latter sale is probably a high outlier. We'll have to wait for a third sale if we want to see this priced. I guess you can take my previous comment as a generalization of future cases where it's just one sale, but a range of ~300-~1100 does raise some questions.
Well if you're throwing in their 2 cents here are mine, I think that trades with sharkers should not be usable since there is always the possibility that the trade in question was a shark (which could be the case here, there was a guy who was willing to instantly offer 300 for this).
Imo if there was another sale @1100 then this should be priced @1100 flat, we technically have a higher offer (previous suggestion) which shows that this is probably a low outlier either way.
And if this resells for ~300, then this should be 300 flat. This could go either way really. If it doesn't resell then this would just become unpriceable for now.
The second sale was more of a shark than the first one if you ask me, with all things considered of how Venom managed to get the Burning Viewfinder from him(after all Venom valued the C Casemaker at 1000+, and born to run sold it for a mere 110), it wouldn't be a surprise if he sharked him yet again to get the PE woodsman back.
I doubt he'd manage to resell it for 1000+ again if he does get it back(unless he sharks someone else lol, if he doesn't then it would just be a legitimate sale), but that's just my opinion here.
EDIT: This is where the common sense factor plays a card here. 300 might be low for some, but I don't see anyone paying 1100+ for this either. Both sales have their own reasons to look outlier-ish, even if Venom was involved in the sales or not.
That's why sharker sales shouldn't be usable.
Just a note: the reason trades with scammers/marked users are not allowed isn't so much because they are scammers but because they have less access to trading opportunity being banned from large trading sites such as backpack.tf and tf2outpost - less users are willing to trade with them, and they have less opportunity to advertise. The same is true of anyone banned from these large sites for any other reason. It's a factor to consider, and as Mindacos alluded to - the sales generally speak for themselves, and we can determine outliers by using common sense and often waiting for more data points. Blanket rules are fairly unhelpful in situations like this. Try to think of the reasoning behind the rule.
Is there any place where all these explanations are listed? I always assumed that rule existed to not support scammers. I don't really understand the reasoning behind making scammer trades invalid just because it's harder for them to sell, especially considering that you just said that outliers are determined by using common sense anyways.
If it's more difficult for somebody to advertise and their pool of buyers is smaller, they are less likely to be able to sell for full or decent price. It's also easier to make profit while quickselling if your items are scammed, cause you didn't have to trade for them fairly to begin with - there are numerous reasons, applicable in different cases. If sales by marked users are way off, there's a good reason to discount them, and if they're the same price as other sales then they're irrelevant anyway, as you've demonstrated the correct price without them. So there's no particular reason not to discount them in general. If you want to discuss further, make a forum thread or post in one of the ones that already exists.
As for sharks, as I said - context dependent. There's reasons why it'd be good to take a second look or wait for more data points, there's reasons why sales might be valid. It's a situation that is not going to come up that often given the fact that sharks are not routinely banned anyway, so looking for a set rule here is again unhelpful - try to apply common sense to each situation.
We can all agree that adding new users to pay much less for their newly unboxed unusuals is some sort of scam, but Venom is not a marked scammer and his sales can be used. Doesn't mean that this suggestion will be accepted quickly, though.
i think we should wait till this gets resold and make a rage maybe
that guy with the PE woodsman who traded BF tiplid for it needs to realise that he's getting ripped off
venom somehow sold it to him for that ridicilous hat oh my god
I'm sure this doesn't affect the price of the item right now, but i just unboxed one of these.
congrats!
Two sales are discrepant. Will need to wait for a third sale to identify the outlier.
