This'll result in a big range.

http://backpack.tf/profiles/76561198081963512#!/compare/1473206400/1473292800 - another sale at 250 keys which took around a week being listed at that price i believe and was up for sale for 2 months where he kept reducing his b/o (was at 300~ keys for a while).

safe to call your sale and this sale an outlier

I don't see your point. He was quickselling for keys only. And you know, everything else aside, that there's a certain price point for every item that needs to be reached for people to have interest in quickbuying it. Obviously, like every other person would, he started off with small discounts and then increased it to bigger discounts until someone finally had the interest to see it as a quicksale and buy it at that price. The old range was @ 400-550. I don't see why you can't make a range of 300-400 or so here either. Simply calling a legitimate sale "outliner" and ignoring it by comparing to a quicksale doesn't help get a better pricing estimation. You can argue that it didn't sell in a week and all so it isn't an actual "quicksale", but you know i'm damn right that nobody spends such a huge chunk of keys unless the discount is big and it's really worth it. Hence he had to keep decreasing his b/o until that point to peak someone's interest in buying his Phono at, what the buyer thought, a reasonable quicksale value.

backpack.tf prices are based on pure values.

also, he did not quicksell since it took 2 months to finally sell for that amount

Ah, I thought it was a QS, sorry about that. That makes both outliners I guess then. Upvote.

Not sure the sales are consistent enough to have a definitive price range. I'm seeing 365, 451, 297 and 500 key capped. The 451 key was indicated as an outlier but the 500 key capped sale would suggest that may not be the case. There was also a quick sale thrown in the mix to muddy the waters. I would suggest there needs to be more sales to prove whether the outliers are true or not.

Disclaimer: I own one so I admit to a vested interest in having this correctly priced

500 is definetely an outlier considering the amount of sellers for lower and the fact that it took around 2 months while being listed at around 300 keys for the duration of that time to finally sell for 250 keys.

        you missed this:

        - b/o: 270 keys (was at 300~ keys for a while and has been reducing his b/o)"

        and my comment above:

"http://backpack.tf/profiles/76561198081963512#!/compare/1473206400/1473292800 - another sale at 250 keys which took around a week being listed at that price i believe and was up for sale for 2 months where he kept reducing his b/o (was at 300~ keys for a while)."

TH3RM$L I didn't miss it I just couldn't see the relevance as I struggle with the concept that one single trader, who identifies his hat as being a quicksell and wants keys only, is having his trade overriding actual sales in a price suggestion that should be based on actual sales.

Still I'm not the pricing mod and may be off the mark with this comment.

a quicksell is a trade that "quickly sells" as suggested from the word.

this trade clearly did not quicksell.

bp.tf prices are based off pure values.

In that case his final sell price is the only figure of relevance and the consideration should be whether that sale price is an outlier or not.

So the sales are 250, 297, 365, 451, 500. Removing the 250 and 500 as outliers gives a range of 300 to 450. The midpoint of 375 keys falls close to 365 keys so I think this is more supportable than your range.

That being said though I still think that there needs to be more sales as the sale ranges are too great.

Had a quick check of Sgt Bradley's sale and the one shown by bipper . Sgt Bradley's is approximately a 430 key sale and the sale shown by bipper roughly 290 keys

This makes the sales as 250, 290, 297, 365, 430, 451, 500. With 3 sales over 400 to me your high price is definitely too low. It seems to be more proof that the range of 300 to 450 is more closer to the mark.

I'm wondering if the dude selling for keys has startled the cats into rush selling. Anyway with such a large range of sale values it will be an interesting decision by the mod.

Any time in past couple months when you check classifieds there is (atleast) one of those "quickselling" for <300 - upvote.

I was gonna do this one today. Rip

http://backpack.tf/item/4747269531 - buyer has had it for 9 days and is reselling for 250

      Pure sales and b/os at 215, 250, 250 (b/o), 270, 297

      Unusual sales at 365, 450, 500

The site is designed to reflect the pure values of items. We used to do a 10% calculation for overpay, but we got rid of it because 10% is an arbitrary number. On some hats it's less than that. On some it's more than that. This is one where it's clearly more than that. Preference is always given to pure sales. I think the suggested range is fine here.
