http://web.archive.org/web/20161201154928/http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/28398639 - Hasn't sold a single refined in two days.
Let's ride.
Refined has a small market.
the .07 cent seller has 17 in stock. wtf? ur gonna try and base this pricing off a guy who's selling like $1.20 worth of refined and call that a fair representation of the whole market?
gawd. these refined suggestions just get worse
I'm can sell 10 for $1 each, so it's time to make a suggestion probably.
Nowhere near enough proof; the 0.07 seller has only 17 in stock.
If a seller @0.07 can't sell any ref in 2 days it's obvious that a change is needed, the range is fine (even if it's still pretty overpriced, a realistic value would be ~0.065 (based on the much healthier key market and current key price)).
The key price is going up cause people like yourself (recently you) is crashing the metal market based on terrible sellers, and for who knows what reason they keep getting accepted.
tf2 keys have been the same cash value since they were possible to sell, yet they keep going up in refined value, cause the refined metal cash value is getting trashed for no reason, yes, there is no reason why refined metal should be less than 10 cents, doesn't matter if there is more of it flowing around when it is still being equally traded the same as it did years ago.
There is still a shitload of people willing to pay the current price and way higher for refined metal, but for some reason marketplace is considered invalid proof, even though it constantly counter every fucking suggestion that keeps getting accepted.
https://marketplace.tf/itemstats?sku=5002;6
Fucking 13,000 sales at 0.11 in the past month just being completely ignored.
Pisses me off so much.
The usage of Marketplace.tf has been discussed a lot of times by now and there are reasons as to why it is invalid, if you do not want to see these reasons then that is your problem, stop complaining about it.
If the metal market is still the same why hasn't that seller sold yet? You seem to forget that fact.
And you are wrong about keys, they rise simply because Refined deflates, which is caused by the huge supply and little demand, it's basic economics. You are right, keys stay the same in monitary value, that's logical, they have a fix-point (Valve's price) nobody is gonna sell way lower than that and noone will suceed in selling any higher as people could just buy from Valve. That means that if Ref gets undesirable the Ref to Key ratio rises and therefor the value of Refined is forced to drop.
I generally don't get why you are so pissed off about Ref suggestions, they do nothing but adjust the Refined value to a more accurate value, that's it, honest question, why do you feel so affected by this?
Please understand this: People buy keys with money, they sell these keys for Refined but since that isn't desirable they keep selling for higher, now they sell keys for money, since there's a fix price point the market always stays the same, this scenario forces Refined to drop as people could simply buy keys, sell for Refined, sell the Refined for money and buy keys from that, but that isn't possible since noone wants to buy Refined for the overvalued price.
The usage of Marketplace.tf has been discussed a lot of times by now and there are reasons as to why it is invalid
- No there is not a single LOGICAL reason behind it, give me one.
If the metal market is still the same why hasn't that seller sold yet? You seem to forget that fact.
- Because nobody trusts him, they trust marketplace.tf, hence why it is better, he sells for low cause nobody wants to trade with him.
And you are wrong about keys.
- No I am not, what you said is exactly what I said worded differently, pretty much proving my point.
Refined value to a more accurate value
- It's not accurate when there are 25,000 total sales for higher than it's current and past value from only the last month.
You're getting downvoted for a reason, take a hint.
I remember months ago the discussion about marketplace and hex is right. The only excuse was that they are bots and the instant trade aspect makes people want to trade with them. Which is ironic considering the keys raising in price is due to hundreds of bots paying above bp price. Yet when it comes to refined, that doesnt apply.
No idea what discussion you are referring to. A thread was made about it here - http://forums.backpack.tf/index.php?/topic/54622-refined-metal-pricepricing-marketplacetf/?p=549766#entry549766
Not near enough, look at my he past suggestions
keys are raising so ref needs to fall
da fuq is this logic? Why does it need to drop?
Because keys are a standard value in usd (1.8 i believe) but the ref price of them are raising.. So ref price needs to fall
1.8 / 27 = 0,066
It's not how it works.
It pretty much is, but ref are overpriced and sell for a bit more then they "should" either way. Yes thats pretty much how it is
Not really, the seller @0.07 still having no luck shows that it sells very badly if at all.
Its not how it works, but it makes sense.
finally somebody gets it
Don't believe any of these d00ds. Keys and ref are both potentially infinite, but keys may only be generated upon spending actual money. Ref, however, with every new item drop, gets more plentiful; it's freely generating. Since keys have the upper hand regarding stability (due to a constant-ish price in real money), they stay around the same value. Ref, unlike the key, has no "official" price. By official, of course, I mean the Mann com Store's price; over time, however, as people bought more keys, supply outpaced demand, so they go for around USD$1.60-1.80 on community sites. Moreover, neither ref nor keys were originally intended to be currencies, so instability was somewhat predestined. Ref will keep on lowering indefinitely. Keys "raising" is an illusion; they only get higher because ref's price shrinks. I hope this clears up some stuff.
TL:DR inflation.
More like a general overview of why the economy is unstable (encompassing inflation, too)
Honestly should wait till winter sale. Thats when everything changes.
If that's a torchwood reference, I like it.
This is ridiculous, don't vote for it. 7 cent seller has a few ref as others have pointed out. 8 cent seller has 25 refined, and 8 cents is already included in current price. And the final statement. Are you kidding me? Hasn't sold in two days? Nothing sells instantly and I'm sure there are other examples where it has sold in a day or less. Poorly researched, not a valid claim. I will be voting against and I encourage you to as well.
Oh and one more thing: $0.085 * 27 refined per key = $2.295, current market price for keys.
That's not completely how it works.
Feel free to explain. I do know that keys don't go for scm price for real money, but looking at real word trades besides your the sources you picked, it's accurate.
We shouldn't base the price of refined of SCM value of them, as it would fluctuate alot. that's all i'm pointing out.
That's fine but the average is over a key. Vote whatever you think, but this is why I'm voting against.
I have to upvote because i'm the suggestor
Eks dee .........
.
Market price for keys is about $1.75-1.8. So either way your arguement doesn't work.
"We shouldn't base the price of refined of SCM value of them, as it would fluctuate alot." Ever heard of average selling points? How else would CS:GO prices work?
Your proof is very weak for a currency and you only have 3 sellers. You are also cherry picking proof.
Show that i'm cherry picking, those three trades was all i could find.
There are a lot of successful sales for $0.09 and even $0.1, but you simple ignore them (cherry picking?). Furthermore, this $0.07 "seller" is ignoring my friend request for more than 3 days now (price manipulation?).
Prove your case, simple.
1. Where are those "sales" at 0.09 and 0.1 you're mentioning?
2. You haven't commented on the trade nor their profile so why would they accept you? You don't meet their PayPal requirements either way.
Thank you for proving it.
You're basing your low end off 1 seller, basing this whole suggestion just off 3 outpost sellers is like making a key suggestion with 5 sellers as proof.
You do realize that there are other sites where people sell refined for cash? I don't believe this nowhere near an accurate representation of the whole market.
Prove it then, also some sites such as marketplace.tf are considered invalid, and there's usually no way of showing how long it can take to sell.
https://www.tf2depot.com - Selling at $0.07 per refined
https://dispenser.tf/market/120/# - Varying amounts of refined metal being sold at $0.07 - $0.083, 1% fee on Dispenser.tf for cash transactions so should be fine
Closing due to insufficient proof here. You should gather up links from more sites than just outpost because outpost does not have the marketshare on all cash transactions. A couple more links have been identified above. Trading forums, reddit, our own forums are also valuable places to check out.
I would sum up links from as many places as possible and then a present your argument for why you think 0.07-0.08 represents value of refined.
