        Pretty sure the argument is that people will compare this price to the price of similar effects (not strange) and therefore it will inflate those hats...

          Yeah, I think it's a lot different here. Strange quality matters a LOT more on weapons than it does on hats. Strange unusual weapons are incredibly valuable. Difference in value between strange and just unusual hats is much much smaller. On some hats it doesn't even make a difference.

          If no more of these are unboxed, Strange or not, by the time they no longer can, then pricing with a Strange sale is fine. If another one gets unboxed next year, then another suggestion can be made if it sells.


          Pricing this with 1 sale is also fine, provided that it is not for sale. If it is, then this will be left up for a month to see if it does.

            Pricing based on a 1/1 strange should be okay since its unlikely valve will make Halloween 2016 stuff unboxable again (tho who knows with valve). The bigger issue is only having 1 sale; its probably best to wait for another data point. I wouldn't close this, just warning you this will likely be open for awhile.

              I read on another suggestion (some unusual weapon suggestion) about pricing a 1 of 1 with a strange sale where a mod said that others will compare non-stranges of similar effects with it and those items will be inflated. It makes some sense.

                Actually for me it would be inflated if i use the older sales, when the new unusuals from halloween were being sold for +90.

                  Well that's because its a 1/1 strange, when theres plenty of non-strange unusuals with same ware/effect in existence. A better comparison is similer to pricing with dupes because only dupes exist.
