I paid 350 keys and a FT unuusal hot airwolf wrench in strange

what I paid for the FT airwolf wrench: http://imgur.com/a/dx5WH = 366,44 euro = 152,68 keys and seller got 318,65 euro = 132,77 =142,73 middle ground lets round that to 142.

Seller of the torqued hell wrench accepted it instead of 200 keys as I think is worth noteing: http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/28097759

and his sale post for my wrench is: http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/28503589

but lets keep it at what my wrench purchase were at. resulting in a total of 492 keys but all the things considered we may aswell round it to 500 for neatness

I know it's an older purchase but I'm a collector the thing have stayed with me and will stay with me.

and there were no support until just recently.

Not sure why it doesn't show that I own one but you're welcome to check my backpack as it's gonna stay there.

Gonna close and redo once the price on date thing works.

this sale is not in date at all.

There should be no other mw hot strange ones to be found and backpack.tf just started supporting it hence why it would have been priced upon my purchase way back if it were supported.

and seeing as I'm not letting it go I see no issue in suggesting it for pricing.

What Lila is saying is that this sale happened 8 months ago. That's too old to use as valid proof.

Yet it would't be any diffrence technicaly speaking if backpack.tf had gotten the feature working back in gunmettle or though break it would have been no problem to get it priced with all the proof I got here.

and it would still have the same price seeing as I've kept it and not sold it.

Neglecting this completely is like blaming me for the feature not working instead of actually looking at the proof I got and consider it should have been priced like this back upon my purchase if the feature were there.

An alternative way to look at it is this post have been open for those 8 months and now would get denied for being neglected.

I understand what you're saying but rules are rules:

Sales older than 2 months old are not valid proof; this does not mean that they are not useful. Feel free to include them to provide supplemental proof. Just don't rely on them to set your range.

Exceptions: For very rare hats, if there have only been 1-2 sales in the last 3 months, a trade up to 3 months old is okay to use as proof to establish more data points. Keep in mind, new sales should take precedence over older ones.

this is the most recent sale for the item (seeing as I still have it) and acording to what I got informed below there should be a feature within a week allowing it to be priced as 8 months old.

In regards to it being outdated. http://forums.backpack.tf/index.php?/statuses/user/17466-thewiz/?status_id=424193 So I guess maybe close this and wait for when polar announces it?

I still have a feeling an exception could be made in this case as per the proof and by the reason the feature to price unusual strange weapons took forever to get implemented.

Did you read the status update I linked? The feature should get implemented sometime soon that will allow you to price it even though the sale is 8 months old. Just have to be patient :P

The feature I spoke of were the one with pricing unusual strange weapons as it just got implemented.

and seeing as what you say I got a feeling that maybe there will be an exception in this here case and if not I guess I gotta wait for polar to annonce that feature you mentioned.

Why would your case be an exception? The feature for pricing strange unusuals is new across the board, for both hats and weapons. Since both our sales are outdated for current rules, just wait for when they get things set up so it'll show when the sale happened rather than when we made the suggestion for these old sales.

Maybe this suggestion could just stay open until that feature is implemented?

seeing as it would be within the week? not unhead of suggestions taking some days to go trough.

The idea behind the feature would be to display sales at the time they happened. This avoids loopholes where items can be priced now based on way outdated sales as the price may have changed over time, even for the strange one.

in this case, whether itd be in-date or not should not matter, but I would personally await the developments and try again that. That will ensure this not to be lost in the backlog and makes it easier to manage for us as moderators.

I see may have to close it later and then redo it if thats the case but I still would like to keep it open for now.

I am actually surprised this hasn't been added already, but I, as someone who knows little to nothing about coding or we this is, assume that this will be/is a lot of work and also a lot of work for the mods, who will get a ton more suggestions.

I also do not know how the coding of the site is done and how much extra work it required. I do not mind the additional influx of suggestions, as they will all likely be assessed similarly. The only potential problem that could appear is when the new feature is released and suggestions from prior to and after the release of the feature are mixed, which is why I would assume it to be best to postpone this. I however am not certain about this due to the aforementioned lack of programming knowledge.

Shouldn't be too bad. This will only really apply to unpriced or heavily outdated items (items outdated by more than a year) items. 95% of items will remain unchanged because new sales will always take precedence over older sales, and we will not accept suggestions based on a sale 8 months ago when there are sales in the last 3 months.

Unfortunately the issue here is that we cannot assume an item with a sale 8 months ago has the exact same value today. A lot has changed in the tf2 trading environment in that period.

This means that, no matter what, this suggestion will end up being closed. Hopefully, cares can implement a way to add dates to suggestions so that a suggestion could be dated based on the sale (an 8 month sale will show up as outdated on the site). However, if that is not implemented, we just cannot have items being priced based on sales happening that long ago. I mean, where do we draw the line then? Can someone pick up a sale a year ago and base a suggestion off that? Things have changed too much to allow that to be used in suggestions pricing the item today. You should keep a look out in our unusual suggestion rules in the forums or you could post a status update asking for updates in the forums to keep up with this. Either way, this suggestion will end up getting closed.

I guess that means that when/if that new system get implemented I have to redo the suggestion.

also I dunno about the whole thing of drawing a line but I'd say when the system with pricing unusual strange weapons should have worked back when I did the trade (in a perfect world atleast) not to mention it seems like it's 1 of 1 and it's unlikely another mw get unboxed.

But hey I dunno guess I'll have to end up redoing it depending on how that pricing by outdated system gets to work.

I'm sorry about that. Valve hasn't made these kinds of things easy to code - identifying dual quality items, adding on tags for killstreaks, and now having the tags for festivized items. Makes things really complicated on the dev side here. To boot, not all dual quality items are the same. Items with strangifiers that are dual quality are not the same as items that can only be unboxed as dual quality.

If cares is able to add a date field, we will be able to go back and price all items based on the date the trade was made and we will no longer have to worry about sales being outdated. Until then, you'll have to sit tight with this. Feel free to PM me in the forums for an update.

Guess I'll close then and try to do it when the date thing works.

Errm, so if a unu has a old old price and a new lower or wise versa you could do like a range?

Pretty sure the newest one would always take priority.

Yeah, actually seems to make sense
