The value of items should be as they were at the time of the trade. It's not really fair to say that the muffs are 42 now so they must have been 42 when the sale happened. It's like saying the that the hellmut is dropping in value because the muffs is dropping in value which is unlikely.
The suggestion for the muffs was accepted 10 days before the sale happened. I think it would be better to value it at 56. Piotrex put his up for sale at 56 after the sale happened.
