Am I the only one who thinks Scrap.TF unsolds shouldn't be used in suggestions? I mean, if you ask anyone if they'll buy a Burning Flames Pirate Bandana for 107 keys >without the risk of suggestions< they'll say yes. It's a cycle, people don't buy it because of fears of suggestions and suggestions happen anyway. Prices are crashing due to this cycle. Most people who have pure don't know about these listings, and they would buy it if there was no fear of suggestions. The fact that people would indeed buy a discount like this but solely don't due to not knowing about it resulting in a price drop annoys me.

Prices on backpack.tf are supposed to accurately (in a reasonable way) reflect what an item is worth. If an item worth 205 keys can not sell for 107 keys (clean) for a long time, then that should indicate that a 205 keys is not an accurate price.

This is of course only valid if there are no other valid sales. Which seems to be the case here. Think about it, if I am selling some outdated hat worth 50 keys for 30 keys and it's still unsold after a month then the hat should clearly not be priced at 50 keys but rather at 30 keys instead, if there are no other sales. The unsolds by bots (scrap.tf, marketplace.tf, stn.tf) helps the site get that accurate price reflection.

B/O drops also help sellers get rid of their hats. The new suggestion will give the hat a much more accurate price reflection. Hats with a realistic price and an updated price tend to sell faster. The hat will no longer have the 'inflated overpriced hat' tag that will always need to be quicksold. The drop gives sellers a way better opportunity to get rid of their hats, instead of being stuck with it for a long time.

If this hat is not going to move soon, then 107 keys should be fine here.

Exactly, I completely agree with you but the point here is that people don't know about these extreme discounts. Go talk to anyone like "Would you buy a 100 keydiscount?" They DEFINITELY are going to say yes. Then why are these not bought? 1. People don't know about it. 2. People don't have that much pure. Take a few of the higher tier ones on Scrap. I would definitely buy those simply because of the enormous discounts, and resell for higher. Wouldn't you? That's what I'm saying. Lets say these were listed on BP instead, these would sell VERY quickly.

You probably dont know that there many big traders that keep open tabs on scrap.tf for many hours a day and if some good hat comes in they buy it; the unsolds are there because said traders know these are inflated and therefore impossible to sell (to any competent trader), thats why it needs to drop

Recently sold today with some pure for a D@D Well Rounded Rifleman priced @ 215. I bought it for some random rare unusuals so im not going to list that, I think the price should stay for a little bit longer since its showing some activity

It was closed because the hat there is duped, but so is the one in this trade. Those two sales can make up the range here; the rifleman sale will be an outlier here (unless I have your sales wrong, of course)

We cant really use the first sale as an example, The Vivid Safeguard is unpriced but was Strange, has Spec KS, and had TS footprints. I personally would not price it above 40 without these extras, but managed to get around 95 from it. The Nano, if its still priced at 70, is heavily underpriced and also had Headless Horseshoes spell on it, which we also priced at 90. I threw in 3 csgo keys and a spelled sniper, probably a max value of like 190 if you counted spelled and stuff.

You're right about the second though, I was in such a hurry to qs it from seeing this I did that, and it backs this up pretty well actually.

Edit: I'm still kind of new to trading spelled/extra unusuals though, as well as to price suggesting, so im not quite sure if what I said is actually relevant, though.

You can't base a price off of scrap.tf. Just because it goes unsold does not mean it is not worth the price. I sold it and bought it within 2 days from different people for around 200.

scrap.tf unsolds shouldn't be used in suggestions, people don't see the actual bp.tf price over there, so nobody notices it's a huge discount. Anyone with enough pure would say yes to a 100 key discount. Just because it is forgotten in scrap.tf bot it doesn't mean it's worth that price. Other than that there were 3-4 solds in 3 days for around 200 keys in unusuals with the most solid one being the rifleman sale.

Holy poop theres alot of newer traders that comment this is unvalid, perhaps we should do another one of the posts with "B/O caps and unsolds"?

Well technically it is invalid because there are some sales, working on it rn ^^
