The logic makes sense as to why the sale wouldn't be used. Pan was paid for it, then almost shortly after it sold from the same guy for 550 keys.
I'm biased as I own one (Just want to make that clear), but there could have been money or CSGO stuff involved? Even then, if it quicksold for keys, that invalidates the previous trade? Its the only pure sale and its not that far and removed from the my sale. Just seems odd to exclude the only pure sale in favor of the CM TC sale valued @800ish...
You are right that it is odd for us to not include a pure sale in the range, but the nature of the sale here clearly shows that the user who traded for it made a low outlier sale as well, he got the pan in a drop and not through trading so he was seeked out by the headprize owner and eventually accepted the trade. Also note that since that time a couple more sunbeams headprizes have entered the market, and the most common b/o I see is 1000 keys ( http://i.imgur.com/oDuHrRB.png ). To me it make sense to call the pan sale an outlier here, despite it being pure.
If you list all sales they are as follows:
900 (darkblaze ke), 1125 (pan), ~550 (sale 3), ~350 (sale 4 most likely), ~800 (moon tc), ~1000 (sale 6).
Considering all those things above I think it's fair to exclude the other sales not in the price range. High outliers just exist like low ones.
