I wonder why none of the previous suggestions have passed when they all include sales below the current YEAR OLD price? (and a few suckers that overpaid with overpriced items)
Marketplace sales at 225, 250, and 340 keys : https://marketplace.tf/items/30549;5;u17
Previous suggest I don't want to copy/paste : https://backpack.tf/suggestion/592d98f50e2cad4ee35dbd40
Whole lotta people trading overpriced items for other overpriced items keeping the price way too high.
I don't expect this to pass at all but SIN hasn't made a new suggest and he closed it 11 days ago so if someone else wants to do this in a way that will please whatever moderator reviews it, be my guest.
This ain't no 775 key hat though. You're telling me an 8 of a kind item, with 6 on the market for sale all under the current price is worth 775? Maybe if you only reference sales to people that just take the backpack price at face value.
Do people actually want hats at this tier, or are they just using them as bartering chips because they're valued so high? Since 75% in existence are for sale on this site alone and the pure sales are far below the current price, I have to go with the latter.
how long did those take to sell?
Irrelevant, unless you can find me some rules regarding it. I do know that it took 2 weeks for the 225 buyer to sell at 250, and after tax he made no money.
One at 250 took 3ish days (Separate days of which i noticed not 24 hour increments of time)(i know cause i was tempted even to purchase but didn't because of the length of time posted plus $500 is a lot to drop on a game), one at 225 took 1 day ish, i was watching both honestly, technically should be valid trades but re-sellers and RMT (Real Money Trades) plus there were higher sales besides marketplace semi recently so im not sure
Well you have to consider that a year ago when the last suggestion was made there were only 3 in existance. A month after that Valve released the unlocked multi class crate and since then 5 new were unboxed.
Unfortunately, there is no criteria that makes any sense with TF2 trading--i.e. comparables, market time, clean, quicksales, pure vs. items etc etc. Pretty futile to try to price any of this imo. It's amazing how much "work" people put into this though.
Currently, what is interesting is how many chargebacks that may be occurring from these "sales" on marketplace.tf. Seems like a scammers dream..and no one tracks that (or is it not possible to chargeback?). If this was tracked I am sure it would effect pricing as well. So, yeah.. defn still fun to watch the daily madness.
That's a good question, do scammers pull that change back BS on mp.tf?
Well, if credit cards are used then it's always possible. There is absolutely no way around that. When I see top tier hats going for insane dollar amounts there (and basically nowhere else) it makes me wonder. Most chargebacks occur a month or more after the sale--by then the person scammed is embarrassed and probably would be reluctant to report it to the community for fear of ridicule. Furthermore, that "priced" hat remains in the system as a "legit" price.
For high value purchases, ID verification is required. If someone tries to chargeback marketplace.tf, they will most likely be unsuccessful.
They would also get banned for a failed/attempted/successful chargeback. You'd know if they chargebacked marketplace by checking their rep.tf page.
So, yes, it's still possible. That's what I initially thought. Thanks.
It's possible to scam, yes.
Is there any proof that chargebacks are happening on marketplace? I mean, it is run by one person, and letting people know you're getting chargebacked is not good for business, but I've had several instances where I had sold an item, it was placed on hold for their payment to clear, then my item came back for whatever reason. Nothing gets lost but time when that happens.
Either chargebacks happen and Geel just takes that out of his profits, or the system he has in place makes chargebacks a lot harder to get away with. I'd like to believe the latter, but I'm sure the former happens too.
We're going offtopic now. Marketplace sales are used as proof as before, so lets just hold on to that.
I'll put in my sale on this hat once again:
22 June, 2017 19:58
Buyer paid: 680$
I received: 612$
http://imgur.com/a/kH8zz
So, mp.tf price is 10% of sales. Good gig!
Marketplace takes 10%, yes. SCM takes 15%, and the rules got updated to disregard tax and just use what the buyer paid, since that's the real number being used.
are c/os count ?? cause i had many offers over current bp price from last week.
also if cash sales count it would be interesting to consider some others that arent insane quicksells or scammers sales. i see a lot of scammers or scammed high tier stuff selling on marketplace or opskins btw
If you can show proof of C/O's, maybe, but it's pretty easy to spoof those. And trading overpriced hats for other overpriced hats isn't really a good indicator of the market, especially since you just said yourself you got offers over the current price that you did not take. Why didn't you take them if they were overpay? It's pretty obvious you're a for profit trader and you're listing yours at the top end when there have been many sellers under you, so...
shoud we reprice all hats that was bought from scammers for over 80% off and both selling on marketplace for crazy cheap https://backpack.tf/item/4970585600 https://backpack.tf/item/5171947450 https://backpack.tf/item/4970585600 https://backpack.tf/item/5877386683 https://backpack.tf/item/5115790332 these hats are out of pricing system or it would be interesting to change all the sytem if we price from these sales. also how can we be sure that cash or items wasnt included in these marketplace trades?
I'm pretty sure that if we know the sale was from a scammer that it gets disregarded. Scammers are not something we should base the market around. I'm guessing you think the beams woodman sales were from scammers, but that wasn't the case, and we have 3 sales to go on.
i know, just saying that with marketplace system we cant trace them easily and be sure that no others infos are forgotten. is it outside the circuit
im not good at suggest but i see each hat was resold after these cash sales , i see some for over 600 the most recents ones. looks like you took only the markeplace sales while there is much more recent in circuit trades. https://backpack.tf/item/5499175515 https://backpack.tf/item/5405829245 https://backpack.tf/item/3518634656 https://backpack.tf/item/3280908291 was sold over 10 times "in circuit" after these marketplace sales + in trade servers ive declined items that recently priced for over the double of this closer to current bp price
Okay. What did you pay for yours then since the history on yours shows you bought it within the last month?
i bought it on marketplace, you listed these 3 marketplace sales. but after these sales it was resold many time in the 2 last weeks for unusuals / keys / items. it would be interesting to look at them. im not suggesting cause im not a pro at this but in 1 min i found that it was sold over 10 times after that for way more than these qs prices. and we are able to see the total trades without wondering if others cash or items have been added. i have personaly bought a lot of time items for cash + items.
Well you have the ID's, you're free to report the sales. You can also report those offers you claim to have gotten.
when you suggest you have to check recent sales why all those most recents sales are hidden and you show only the old qs from marketplace which are hard to get opinion with since we cant trace them correctly. there was over 10 sales after those qs. see all the links i sent buy pls try to be fair and do the effort to do it right when you do a suggest dont do randomly. i have no experience suggesting but it seems just logic to take the most recent sales that wasnt quicksells. can you see the 10+ new owners after markerplace sales ? you have to check what they paid i think its more important that few qs a while ago. https://backpack.tf/item/5499175515 https://backpack.tf/item/5405829245 https://backpack.tf/item/3518634656 https://backpack.tf/item/3280908291 . thanks for your patience and sorry for that horrible english.
Again, feel free to report those sales. You have ids for 4 out of 8, have the other 4 moved at all? You're premium, you can check, I can't.
the other ones was traded a while ago or never traded. these are the most recent ones traded

and some others that i'm not sure.
Your first link shows it coming in but nothing going out, so cash/marketplace/etc. It lines up with the June 7th sale on marketplace, but it might not be the same one.
Second looks like the woodsman + hermes + rack + samureye + 20 keys in paint/kits for the beams executioner. (seller for the executioner bought it from a scammer so probably paid almost nothing. Should it be counted? How far does a scammed hat have to travel before it's legal again?)
Third looks like the lucky + mannrobics + 25 keys for the woodsman, so 170 + 240 + 25 = 435. Both are just barely outdated but it looks okay to me.
Tried to sell my Sunbeams Winter Woodsman over 2 weeks on Marketplace.tf for 700$ as did an other guy were we kept going lower on each other and nobody bought it.
Feeling myself lucky that I happened to sell it for 680$. But this hat definitely needs an update, 775 is way to high according to the amount of the unusuals (8) and the price people want to pay for ~lower than 700$ which is 350 keys+/-
From the history alone, it looks like IKFF sold his for an arcana brown bomber. 290 keys.
https://backpack.tf/profiles/76561198050745352#!/compare/1500163200/1500249600
Seller's pack was unupdated for a month until after the sale, shows nothing his end.
https://backpack.tf/item/2041137030 Bomber
https://backpack.tf/item/5452828819 Woodsman
Bomber price is more recent than the woodsman.
10 months outdated, better used for bomber
Or someone could see If there's been more recent sales on the bomber since it's 3 of a kind and they're all recently parsed.
only other sale i could find is
https://backpack.tf/profiles/76561198252194838#!/compare/1498089600/1498176000
burning lucky shot + screaming tiger mannrobics + 25 pure
lucky doesnt have a mini so probably useless at this point
also maybe a sale ~300 pure here https://backpack.tf/profiles/76561198036445124#!/compare/1496448000/1496534400 supporting range
this might be the best option over all
The 300 sale is nice. I like how you're getting downvoted for reporting it though.
the people downvoters are all the owners of the hat who dont want their hat dropped 400 keys lmoa
Should note that the 300 purchase is Sparta's and he sold it for $680 - 10% tax (68) so he only actually made... 6 keys? Brutal. If we're going by what keys cost on mp.tf (slightly over $2), then he probably didn't make anything. He technically sold it for more, but MP got all the profit.
NEW SALES

You already posted all these man. Only the last one is valid at 435. And that might not be valid since both hats are outdated.
