1 Month old marketplace seller isn't really old enough to be setting a low-end with. Not everybody has $1,000 to throw around lol.
I refer you to the closed RA TC suggestion for proof of this.
The RA TC suggestion didn't have an item sale around the same value and a 5 month unsold below current price either. Both of those factors support a drop.
I'm still super iffy on this suggestion though. A drop this large on this hat seems extremely unexpected. This should be left open for a long time at the very least.
The principle is the same though. Imo. It's Burny's point I'd concede before these ones, I personally don't think the ones mentioned strictly matter. Too young is too young. The RA TC was unsold for 5 months and that wasn't long enough to set a price with. But to each their own :)
Ironically it's the big drop I'm fine with - lots of all-class hats are dropping a ton anyway, and comparatively this has always been high. The Scorching Gibus is like, what, 500? :P
That a 5 month unsold can't be used to lower a price is downright ridiculous. There needs to be some rule changes around here because people are skirting the very edge and getting away with it.
The mohawk has been on the top of the 'best deals' page on marketplace for months now. If no one has bought it then it's not worth that price.
I don't think it's very fair at this level to say not many people have money like that, because it just lets the people that DO make even more.

Look, in PRINCIPLE I agree with you - I think, though there should be a LITTLE leeway extra, that marketplace b/os are b/os all the same. That's just in principle though. In practice, the moderators have established precedent that suggests marketplace b/os aren't valid unless VERY unsold, and that's the point I'm making - Im a suggestion feedback giver first and foremost.
But yeah, if you want a rules changes considered I'm the wrong guy to be getting pissed at. For once :D
I'm not upset at you specifically, just the state of affairs. A five month unsold not being usable is just disgusting. Who are they waiting for?
The thing about the RA TC is that Bob changes his buyout on it often, so it isn't actually unsold at the same price for 5 months, it's just been on Marketplace for 5 months.
And that's what I'm talking about. That's skirting the rules so it never gets dropped. Edit: well... Maybe not that exact example, but things like it
I don't really understand your issue here. The 5 month unsold isn't even used in the range here (unless you're saying it should set the high end here).
The example being alluded above (RA TC), along with other items that that exact same seller is selling, is just someone gradually lowering his price (probably because he has trouble selling rather than to avoid suggestions).
Marketplace sellers can be used in suggestions as long as it is known or at least plausible that they've been listed as long as it seems they've been listed (and at least 1month+ of course). The problem with marketplace is that you can trade it to a mptf bot without listing it, and you can adapt your listing without it moving from the bot with no real traces. That means that if it was moved to the bot a month ago, it doesnt mean it has been listed the entire time, let alone for the price it is listed at in the end. That is why - in cases like these - we wait to solidify the sellers in such cases.
The seller here changed his price and even removed his listing. Normally that would be an issue, but since its close to the sale here, and nothing else has happened, I guess this can be accepted as close enough
dunno, if 490 sells in the next month for more, would be capped at 490 anyways + what gamer said
