They count as proof (I use them all the time). Check classies for the sellers. You aren't supposed to use inven comparisons for items worth 10 ref. There would be so much other garbage to sort out.

TL;DR check classies the buyer is there

You can use compares, and I prefer them. Don't need to literally compare the amt of metal, can take the seller's/buyer's list price and the items leaving/entering their backpack. Much preferable to item histories.
