Solds:

Mini:

= 254
Sold #2:
https://backpack.tf/profiles/76561198281759583#!/compare/1512345600/1512432000 ~ sold for 250 pure
Nunhood sale is with a scammer
It's the only mini avaliable and was done before he scammed/was marked
I will check with someone else, if not ill resugg to 250 like wiz said
don't bother. I've offered current seller 250 pure and added him and pleaded my case. Not even close. 250 really seems a quicksell.
want this hat bad if it's only 250 lmao #endgame hat
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/29386451
outpost trade I offered 250 pure on. Declined :(
The whole conversation on that outpost trade seems like a manipulation lmao, 2 sales at 250 and 255
manipulation? I don't even know that seller. I saw this suggestion for 250 and thought 'damn if i could get that for only 250!' ... look at my bp. i'm all about the greens and toques. no way in hell i thought a scorching toque would ever be 250. and I guess I'm still out of luck. manipulation. lol
let's hear your reasoning for that 250 key sale to not be a quicksale?? Never saw this on pud's o/p or advertised. you sure it wasn't a quicksell?
A well needed drop.
Should resuggest at 250 flat since the nun sale involved a marked scammer.
Just asked Randy (pricemod) and unstopabull... they said they're not really sure as the scammer was not marked at the time of the deal
Its only a 2.5 key difference anyway. So it's not that much of a problem.
ok, thanks for asking. Wonder what the results would have been if it were a more considerable difference.
Shuffle spy just said if the sale was before the mark then its fine too :P
Quick question ... from a guy who just likes to trade and generally has had no understanding about how unusuals get priced here. Obviously I have a vested interest in the price of this unusual given that I own one.
Why is it a scorching nunhood can be priced off one mini?, while no one bothers to try to reprice the nunhood at that price on bptf. Does it not seem unreasonable at the time of the trade that the seller valued the nunhood at its bptf price at approx 325 keys? To a layman like me, it just seems like your bypassing the system that allows for fair price suggestions to be voted on. Who votes on the price of one mini? why is it allowed to be used to change a price suggestion on this unusual when the value of the nunhood remains unchanged and has not been voted on by the community to confirm the price of the mini? I'm sure the pricing pro's will have an answer for me ... "A well needed drop" "The nunhood's overpriced - but yet the community has not voted on it" ... but remember ... go easy ... I'm only new :)
....
Mini's are used because you use a sale to "mini-suggest" it in another suggestion.
The reason it is not having its own price suggestion is one of two reasons when this happens:
A) The item has too many sales and it would take too much time so they use the most recent
B) The item only has 1 sale (suggestions normally require 2 sales)
In this case, B is the option, the nunhood has only 1 sale (the one i used) so it is my mini, but not its own suggestion
The nunhood is also 1 year out of price, so is this, prices change in a year :P
Thanks for the response JayTee, it is appreciated. I do understand the concept of mini's but I think you are missing my point. So I might put it in a different way.
My concern here really is that the evidence that you provided for the value of this unusual, should be considered as outliers. If this is the case, then it might be best to wait for a further sale before using them to price this unusual.
It is common knowledge among all traders that "pure is king". Pure gives buying power, commanding a discount/quicksell of 30%+ generally. The nunhood sold for 214 pure, the cold snap for 250 pure. Both these sellers would not have taken that amount in unusual offers, it seems highly probable that they were both discounted/quicksells for pure.
My previous point regarding using the mini price for the nunhood is that, with such a drastic drop in value and given there is only the one sale .. would it not be better to consider this an outlier until there is a further sale?
"The nunhood is also 1 year out of price, so is this, prices change in a year" I agree, an unusual is only worth what someone is willing to pay but your proof I think represents a pure/discount price. What's the harm in waiting on further sales? Is there really a rush here? If there is any doubt, why not wait?
I note the discussion you have had with Adolf Storms. For the record, he added me to make an offer yesterday. I do not know him, nor have I ever traded with him before. He seems like a stand up guy and the type of trader I enjoy trading with. I guess I understand why you may make that assumption of "The whole conversation on that outpost trade seems like a manipulation lmao", but it wasn't. He made a solid offer, I don't need to quicksell ... end of story. Could be a lesson here about assumptions.
Hey JayTee , again your clarification is appreciated, but I am confused?
"Sale two does not look like a quicksell from history end" ... How so? On the balance of probabilities, what is more likely? This trade was discounted for a pure offer of 250 keys or he would have taken any unusual/item valued at 250 keys? If your suggesting that Sale one makes sense if sale two is correct, I guess you want to be sure sale 2 is correct right? The question I had asked but you did not respond to was, given there is significant doubt about theses sales including sale 2, don't you think it might be best to wait for a further sale before using them to price this unusual?
I have no idea what you just said.
It doesnt look like a quicksell from how long the person had it
Hey JayTee, I have no idea what you just said too? Is your definition of quicksell, the duration of time that some one has an item in their backpack? Mine is, when some one is willing to discount their item for pure, to sell it quickly. Does that clarify it better? and again, The question I had asked but you did not respond to was, given there is significant doubt about these sales including sale 2, don't you think it might be best to wait for a further sale before using them to price this unusual?
Hey JayTee, any reason your not responding to my question? You have taken the responsibility for pricing the cap and I presume you have a neutral stance on it's pricing. I don't think anything I am asking is unreasonable is it? If you think it is, rather than not responding or just disliking my comment, is it possible for you to given me an answer that makes sense or perhaps just ask a mod to give an opinion here? Remember I am new to this and I am only trying to apply some common sense to your suggestions. If JayTee does not respond, can anyone tell me if it's reasonable for me to ask a moderator to look to this suggestion? and Merry Christmas all !!!!
Because im spending time with my family for christmas?
Mods will review this eventually and you can try to bug one to look but they probably won't for a while.
Hey JayTee, I'm spending time with my family too!! man I love Christmas!! Alright if mods will review this eventually I won't bug them and I accept your not interested any further discussions with me on your suggestion. I will just leave it there. Merry Christmas JayTee, peace :)
I have issues with both sales.
Sale One:
A) The fact that the sale is with a marked scammer. I'm not 100% on whether he was marked when the sale went through, so I'll allow this to be mostly moot.
B) More strange to me is that there are 3 Nunhoods for double your valuation, for which there is only a single mini. I'd like a bit more background on Nun sales to support this suggestion.
Sale Two:
A) Sorry to end on a bland and predictable note, but surely this could be considered a quick sell? It could be an idea to clarify with both parties.
Down voting for now. Good luck with pricing the Cap.
I said that he wasn't marked at the time of A. You can even check.
B is correct, but these never sell and its a year outdated, it works with sale 2 so it makes sense.
Sale two does not look like a quicksell from history end but you're free to ask them :)
It seems the answer is obvious.
If they never sell, why are you pricing it?
bc its a mini
It's a mini to show what they're selling for, this is to counter outdated unusuals making other prices too high
Hi Best! Happy New Year! Can I ask you a question given that JayTee didn't really answer any of mine. I understand the concept of the mini. It makes sense that it is meant to be a guide to possible outdated prices. My concern with this mini is:
1. It suggests a drastic drop from it's original price, especially given it was for only pure keys ?quicksale
2. it was sold by an eventual marked scammer (regardless whether he was not marked at the time of the trade, I think it should still be considered as dubious) . Given these concerns, do you think it is reasonable to wait for a further sale before using them to price this unusual?
Are you aware of any rules in deciding what should be considered a valid mini or not? If not, do you know anyone else or a mod who might be willing to to look at this suggestion and give an opinion? Thanks!
The nun mini sold in a week to a buyer though. Here's a sale for 270 pure on the nun
https://backpack.tf/profiles/76561198073553007#!/compare/1507507200/1507680000
That'd make that sale 310 instead. I'll ask Pudding about his sale. I can't find his listing and apparently he has had it on MP for a while (but I don't know for how much). if that sale checks out then I guess 250-310 can work, though the low end would be on the low side.
I've talked to Pudding and he has had it listed at 250 for quite a long time. He actually sold it twice for 250 (buyer the first time sold it back to him). 250-310 will work here
Thanks a lot Foamy! I really appreciate your time and explanation.
