I think evidence points towards that $50 being an outlier in this case. Plus, idk it was made after or before the suggestion.

He probably didn't trust the dozens of premium users trying to hassle him for it and wanted to be rid of it because they just kept coming.

So...let me get this straight.

You yourself would pay 200 keys in cash.

You have an active price suggestion at 25 keys.

This seems like a pointless attempt at revenge to me. Backpack suggestions are meant to prove the true value of an item, and in this case, with this suggestion, that purpose is not served.

You said yourself: "Maybe you got lucky."

If that's your opinion on this sale, then it should not be placed at 25. With three clear quickbuys (despite being placed after this was made, they are still not to be ignored) above 45 dollars, I see no reason this should pass.

TLDR this is the definition of a revenge suggestion and should be closed without argument.

I still don’t agree with your buy, you made no attempt to fix the situation. I don’t agree with the pricing of it, but from what I’ve read in the google doc you’ve posted as evidence, you essentially took advantage of an inexperienced trader, or ‘friend’, to make easy profit. I agree with the pricing more than the sale itself, but disagree with both

I also tend to notice many of your hats come from unboxers. Whether this is to take advantage of other inexperienced traders I can’t be sure, but this one sale is keeping me from pricing the scorching casemaker

I disagree with joeg’s recent attempts at pricing unusuals, but I can’t say I agree with your trading tactics either.

I’m not angry at joeg, I think what he did was perfectly fine. Just curious why my deal gets the most ridiculous amount of hate while others go under the radar. I guess it had to do with how hypocritical I am, but still

People didn't like yours because you negotiated what's generally a far less desirable hat and effect for their top tier new effect strange, and claimed the person was your friend, and a friend wouldn't give a friend a bad trade like that, or at the very least would make it clear that their hat is worth more or offer to share eventual profits. As is it just looks like you took advantage of the guy, and all the other unbalanced trades you do don't help your situation.

This situation here the guy got an instant sell for real cash. Yeah it's relatively low, but it's more than they spent and more than they would have gotten instaselling to SCM or scrap.tf, and that's not even real money they'd be getting. There was no negotiation with my purchase here, the guy just took the highest buy order, listing at 45 when my order was at 50, which I placed to outbid the orders at 20 and 25.

I like to think that's a different situation. Hats only have perceived value within the system and only to the right person. Marketplace offers real money you can spend on things you need to survive, plus it's far more secure than a direct trade with someone. For those of us deep into the system, yeah, we can turn that hat back into money because we have the knowledge to do so. Not everyone has that skill or the time and effort required to make it happen.

Shame he didn't try to get more, but I can fully respect that. Closing.
