    This is a 2% change - https://forums.backpack.tf/topic/36705-rules-for-non-unusual-suggestions/

"We ask suggesters to avoid making suggestions changing the values on items by less than 5% unless there is a compelling reason to do so. "

Any compelling reason for the change here?

I'm aware of that rule. The fact of the matter is that that 11.44 doesn't exist any more so having it flat at that is straight up misleading. 11.66-11.77 is more telling of the current price and allows for fluctuations of 0.11 above and below the high and low, respectively.

And you don't believe that a variation of 1-2% isn't just normal variation on an item of this tier? i.e. if we look a week from now it may be 1-2% less and then another week after that it will be 1-2% more? That's what I mean by relevant and meaningful. Bots constantly change prices by a scrap here or a scrap there. We don't have to be EXACT. We're giving users a general idea. If we made an update for every 1% change on every item, we would get over 100,000 suggestions per month.

And yet examine the bot.tf statistics. Nothing whatsoever recently besides my suggested price range.

          9.66 is an outlier.

11.44 is countered heavily by the 11 purchases above that.

You recently looked at a bunch of uncraftable weapons and noted that the time the trade happens matters (though I disagree in those cases given how rarely it's traded). It's been a month since the last 11.44 happened.

The example given in the updated rules (that I helped write in some parts) is for cases wherein the value is effectively the same not only technically, but visually. This is not only changing the price, but the perception. Flat to ranged.

With all this said and if you still can't understand where I'm coming from and why this is an appropriate (but perhaps not "necessary") change, I will close it.

Eh... I wouldn't really count 11.66-11.77 a range... Yes, technically it has two values, but that's not really giving an item a range to let people know about variability in an item's price.

Still, I'm willing to compromise. If in 7 days the bot.tf and classifieds prices are identical, I'll accept. Otherwise... I'm closing

Sounds good. I'll double check it in 6 just to make sure :)

Thanks. Not trying to be difficult. Just want you to understand the reasoning. If we allowed tiny changes based on bot.tf suggestions, we would get inundated with suggestions that add a lot of moderation works for not a lot of community value.

It's never really a bad thing to have the most accurate prices possible.
