You should be doing ($0.94 / $key price on that day) * key price when using marketplace sales
.5 decimals shouldn't be used, the only time it makes sense if it's very commonly traded at a rate of 2 per xx metal. Otherwise, there's no need to represent the item as 22.44 + 1 wep, you can round to the nearest scrap value. Rounding to the nearest weapon does not add anything in this situation.
I doubt you can go decimals (0.50) for this suggestion.
Marketplace.tf stats:

Past 30 days:
1x $0.94 ($0.94 / $0.04 = 23.5)
1x $0.90 ($0.90 / $0.04 = 22.5)
1x $1.00 ($1.00 / $0.04 = 25)
Going with 22.5 - 25 ref.
