Since the last suggestion was closed before I could make a closing argument.. RA Beak is 1 of 3. All belonging to collectors. Only sale..

A bit confusing, but FOUR different traders (three directly involved) posted their perspectives and defenses of how everything went down and the logic provided supports a raise. Unfortunately, it's never that easy. There was a single and brief argument against it. This was a claim that it had been offered for 550 keys. BULL stated this was an idea of the price, but soon raised his asking price as he found out through Apo that I was looking to offer for more. BULL never listed it. I had no way of knowing he had one or was looking to sell. Unfortunately, this LITTLE indication was the murder weapon in the last RA Beak suggestion.

All the talk is in the last suggestion. This is going to be long enough without a ton of reposting.

Three collectors own all the beaks and we're using 'objective thinking' to gauge the validity of a sale? Sale made. Sale reported. Easy.. Collector purchases are often emotional. There is little objective thinking.

Apo ALWAYS maintained a high listed price. The ONLY ONE listed. I don't have bp premium. I can't just hunt them all down with a click of my mouse.

Bull appears to have engaged in conversation with one other person in a private steam chat. It's completely unusable as evidence without picture proof. Even then.. what came of it?

Provided evidence and popular opinion suggests this should pass. Personal opinions of a small number of folks suggest otherwise. Just some fun quotes I'm responding to from the comment that was protected by the suggestion closing:

Foamy to Apo regarding my offer to him: "the offer situation does not really say anything here; it's basically the same offer that was taken from the same person" - Reminder that Apo passed on this offer. If 550 is seen as reasonable, why would a seller pass on 800? Rack could be sold in an instant to a dozen different people for 500 pure. I was contacted by few people within hours of purchasing the rack, all offering 500 pure/paint. There was also ONE other party involved on the buying end, and it was indicated by DB and BULL it was a private steam chat that fell apart when BULL realized he could get more out of it.

Foamy: "The fact that the same buyer also inflated the rack is rather a supportive indication that this is really high :P" - Double-spelled 13th rack. Only one traded in 3 years. Secret rack was priced at 720. Hellfire 1300 (ACCEPTED BY FOAMY). I declined nice offers on 13th rack a couple times. Thanks for asking questions before stating your personal opinions.

Foamy: "Desertbuggy has shown to have a solid interest in rare miscs" - Desert was the one that mentioned the 550 price in a private steam discussion with BULL regarding the unlisted beak before he knew I existed. Most high tier traders have interest in rare miscs. What makes him so special? No offence intended DB.. just trying to make a point here. I'm sure other traders interested in rare miscs are in favor of this beak being raised. Sure, DB was involved a bit. So was I. How come his indication is so powerful and my provided evidence is useless? I've been trading for a good 6 years. I matter too!!! This wasn't just a senseless purchase. I've declined gpan on antifreeze veil and 500 pure on RA belt. I have the utmost confidence in my ability to resell this misc in the future.

Foamy: "That's why I tried to think of any reason for bull to change his mind, other than him being directed to the one guy that would pay much more than anyone else, and why I mentioned it in my comment above." - There was no reason for BULL to change his mind other than being directed to the guy that BOUGHT the hat. From everything I've gathered, there are TWO potential buyers involved here. The guy that bought the hat, and the guy that didn't. The guy that explained EVERYTHING and the guy that referenced a private steam chat.

Foamy: "I'm just trying to put the pieces together based on all the input we get, and in this case, the story seems to have two contradictory sides." - Two contradictory sides? Overwhelming evidence supporting a raise vs. a reference to a private steam chat completely bombing a price suggestion WITHOUT evidence provided 2019..

Roboactive War Pig for 700 - ACCEPTED by Foamy. "Stormy 13th Rack is inflated" - For the record, I didn't buy this, buy I've owned it multiple times. Couldn't get half of the 700 collector purchase either time before or after the suggestion took place.

I'm sure I'm missing a good few suggestions that can be considered 'stupid'. Demonflame belt is fairly reasonable. I won't argue that one. It's an actual misc that doesn't require glitching to equip... it's a lot like the beak really.

I'm not trying to make enemies. This is not supposed to insult anyone. I'm replying to a comment made regarding the purchase and myself that is completely off base that I didn't have a chance to respond to, and providing evidence ANYONE can find that reveals how hypocritical the involved mod's reasoning is classifying this purchase an outlier. I'm defending my purchase with evidence because there is no actual evidence to counter. If this isn't seen as a valid purchase, then EVERY suggestion that has been influenced by a collector purchase or could be considered objectively high MUST be removed! This is the only way to uphold the integrity of the system.

Thanks for taking your afternoon to read my poorly constructed essay. If I'm out of line, sorry. There's $1,000 in potential value missing from my bp right now, and I'm having a world of trouble understanding why. In order to see this pass, I have provided all known facts. Again, not trying to call anybody out or make enemies. I just want to point out the lack of a foundation for any provided counter arguments.

tl;dr

Beak value can and should be considered 805. Another seller rejected roughly as much. An indication of a private steam conversation between the seller and a single other trader without any evidence is completely overwhelming to a mod... while the only actual sale, another seller declining a near-identical offer, and reality is just not enough. One could consider BULL's initial 550 thought a lowball. Nobody is perfect. Especially not with popular items among collectors. This doesn't change the fact suggestions on questionable collector purchases are passing.. and the mod questioning this purchase is the one passing a lot of them.
