3rd time is the charm. I promise this one isn't a declaration of war. This is the finale of the robo beak saga.

I apologize to Foamy and all other offended parties if my last suggestion came off as an attack. I just saw flaws in arguments and disagreed with many counterpoints being made. I was unable to respond to the final comment which had a couple points I took as personally offensive. Water under the bridge at this point.
2 years outdated. Just a rundown of the sale and the confusion surrounding it with a more polite approach to disagreeing with mods.
Apo and I talked for a month. The deal fell through. He connected me with unstoppaBULL afterwards. We worked out a deal for 805. -> 13th rack (750) + 55 pure.
In the initial suggestion, DesertBuggy indicated a private steam chat where unstoppaBULL made mention 550 as a price.
unstoppaBULL responded with "I didn't offer 550 keys, I said that's what I'd probably list it at, but I held off from listing it all because I talked to apo and realized 550 was low for this" - unstoppaBULL in first suggestion.
I feel like DesertBuggy would have responded if there was more to offer as an argument against a raise. His comment appeared to be more of a drive-by.
Apo had an anti-freeze nunhood + roboactive beak combo listed at 999. No individual prices were ever indicated, but it's uber-safe to assume today the hood could be anywhere from 180-300. Maybe more. Idk..being uber-safe.
The only argument against the raise seems to focus on what DesertBuggy said. A thought of 550. Foamy noted unstoppaBULL is experienced and wouldn't make a price that low if he didn't believe in it or some such jazz. Again, all we know is that unstoppaBULL and Apo talked and unstoppaBULL (tired of typing it all out. he is BULL from now on) was made aware 550 is low. Anybody could make the counter argument that unstoppaBULL underpriced the hat just as easily. Nobody is perfect, especially when dealing with a hat that screams 'collector'
BULL never once listed his beak for sale. I didn't even know he had one and he didn't know I was interested. Apo connected us after our talks came to a conclusion. As referenced above, BULL upped the price he had in mind afterwards.
If DesertBuggy didn't do a drive-by throwing the number 550 out there, would this even be questionable? btw Thanks DB >:| The confusion of the steam chat between DesertBuggy and BULL appears to have been resolved with Apo's account, BULL's account, and no response from the concerned party in the first suggestion. Without evidence of a public or private buyout ever being set by BULL, we only have Apo's. I just don't see the foundation for an argument using 550 as the bloody knife in the beaks murder case.
Extra note: I offered ~1000 on an antifreeze beak and antifreeze pyromancers mask and was promptly rejected and the seller never even tried to reach out to me to negotiate. I've seen/talked to him in game on occasion for years. There's no bad blood between us. I am not the only one that values these effects highly. Given offers I've received on some of my other AF/RA miscs, I have the utmost faith in a RA beak selling again in the future for a substantial amount. Collectors are unpredictable. One minute someone has a $100 backpack. A few months later $20,000-30,000-40,000+. All of their purchases pass suggestion, and one could argue they just paid an outrageous buyout with throwaway money. Doesn't make their purchases any less valid.
Hope this isn't overboard. I don't think I insulted anyone this time. Most essays I write are structurally unsound. I apologize. I jumped around a bit. Hopefully I didn't repeat lines too many times. I'll try to respond to any noticeable questions or concerns but I'm pretty busy. Could respond quickly, could be a day or two.

I can confirm everything here, 550 was what I considered listing it at but then I realized 550 was stupidly low for this when I talked to apo.

The accepted suggestion, collector purchase, and mod comments are very relevant and concerning considering the comments across all relevant RA Beak suggestions.
Not an attack. Just making further points and providing proof to support the legitimacy of my purchase... despite a lack of any argument wielding the power of evidence against.
Okay, independently reviewing this from Foamy.
First, in the last suggestion that I closed, I told you to review our rules. It seems that you completely ignored the advice. "If you are legitimately interested in getting this priced at 805, you are welcome to resuggest. Please refer to our rules for unusual suggestions. Place the evidence first and a brief summary statement below justifying your price range. A separate mod will re-evaluate the suggestion and you can ask the mods to discuss it again."
This really hurts you here because in close calls, mods always go with the votes. And without any proof of sale in your suggestion, you are going to get negative votes on your suggestion. Also, by not following our rules, the sale is now outdated. So if I were to give you the option of resuggesting at the pure valuation of 550, you would not even be able to do that because the sale is now outdated.
This clearly falls under the close call category. We have had concerns with some high tier items (i.e. collector pith) recently about pure price vs unusual price of these items. We used to have a rule where all unusual sales would have a 0.9 multiplier because it was assumed that unusual offers require at a minimum 10% overpay over the pure value of the item. We actually got rid of this, not because it was not true, but because it was made when 1st and 2nd unusuals were out. Overpay in unusuals is typically more than 10% nowadays because unusuals aren't so unusual any more. It's difficult to determine what the "pure value" of an item is. Sometimes we point to b/os. But most people would sell their hats for less than their b/o in pure. In the collector pith suggestion, the seller quicksold his hats for pure. Obviously he would have taken that same amount of pure if offered to begin with. So that becomes his "pure value." Here, it has been suggested that unstoppabull would have taken 550 in pure if offered. In fact, he himself was offering it around at that amount. That's why it was felt that 805 did not reflect the pure value on this item.
All that said, I would have definitely been okay with a suggestion at 550 flat. We don't really have a precedent about taking proof from the community that a hat was "offered around" for x amount, so I might have even considered 805, but again, you haven't done yourselves any favors here by not following the rules, and I'm going to go with the votes here.
