Suggestion: Starstorm Insomnia Law at 43–68 keys

This is too low. The hat was never listed at $80 when I bought it, it was at $95 for about a week; I offered $80 and he took it. Especially with it basically at quickbuyers price, its def low. That leaves us with

41.5 (unstable crate depression stuff, prob shouldn't use to update a more stable hat like this)

46.5 (was offered on the pithy should be used there, serpentine might of missed the sale)

80 (x2) - one full pure

I would probably go 60 - 80 due to the common trading point at 80 and 1 pure sale, however you could make an argument for 60 - 68 due to the unsolds at 65 rn. I would probably ask a mod which one is preferable.

can it be considered low if there are 2 other sales close to it?

I can't exactly ignore 3 sales near buy orders, I can't ignore the high (and one pure) sales, and I can't drop both ends as that would end up excluding more sales than including.

I ended up excluding the high sales because of the unsolds; regardless of the person poorly bumping at 65, it has still sat there for a month or so.

Well heres how to look at it. Backpack.tf is trying to price items at a point that is sellable - i.e. if someone has a hat and they list it at bp.tf price, it should sell for that in pure. The low sales going against this logic.

$80 on marketplace.tf sale - Was never listed at $80, infering the owner could of gotten more if they had waiting. If it took a week to sell at 43 pure/$80, then 43 would be a representitive sale of the pure value of the hat, however it was never listed long enough at that price for us to know.

Pithy sale - The law was never listed on for sale before being traded (check bot.tf) How are we supposed to know if 46.5 is a good selling point if it was never listed for sale at that price? It was offered on the pithy so naturally that sale should be used on the pithy, the hat that was listed for sale.

Woodsman sale - Its not usually the best practice to update items w/ stuff with very unstable prices. The chance that the best range from the sales of the woodsman is going to equal a good pure selling price of the law is very low. Thus, it should be used on the woodsman for more data points; if it is an outlier there, thats ok.

your entire logic about bp.tf pricing things based on a 'sellable' point is not correct. Backpack.tf prices items based on sales, to reflect the market of a hat. 'sellable' and 'sale' are 2 different things.

The most I can give you is that the Woodsman has the ability to change the outcome of this suggestion, much like the tree.

Well the other low sales shouldn't be here, since they are better used on the woodsman + pithy, so there isn't really 3 sales near buyers. This prob needs mod input on the range, regardless of what happens with the woodsman, so I will leave this for now.

I'm not convinced that, even before these sales, that calling the high AND low sales outliers is the best choice for this hat.

Polar, could I get your reasoning for 60 - 68? And do you think, with these new sales, that a different range is possible?

Given all the newer sales are on the lower end, I can get on board with the range with two outliers on either end. Low end near buyers but high end is also above sellers
